The verse, 17/110, states

(Shakir) and do not utter your prayer with a very raised voice nor be silent with regard to it, and seek a way between these.

In Sunni sources, We find that Ayesha said regarding this verse

This verse was revealed for a  problem and a prayer .[1]

and then She clarifies and says

that is, this verse was revealed regarding tashad. [2]

In Shiite sources, we find with  Sahih Sanad

.

Mohammad bin Hussein [3] from Nadar bin Saweed [4] from Khalid bin Hamad [5] and Mohammad bin Fadeel [6] from Abu Hamza Thamali [7]:

Imam Abu Jafar (asws) was asked regarding the verse {and do not utter your prayer with a very raised voice nor be silent with regard to it, and seek a way between these}. He said: Its explanation is that Do not utter Wilayat of Ali (asws) and what he has been honoured with, till the time you are ordered to do so; And do not be silent, that is, do not hide it from Ali (asws), and let him know what he has been honoured with. And regarding the saying that seek a way between these, it means that Ask me and demand from me that I give you permission to Utter Wilayat of Ali and call people to that. And He was given the permission in Ghadeer [8]
