Sunnis are often fed that the most beloved of Holy Prophet (asws) was Abu Bakar. There may be narrations created by the factories of Banu Umayya in that regard. But interestingly, We find that Ayesha herself, exposed the truth and told us who the most Beloved of Holy Prophet (asws) were. And the tone in which She spoke shows, not only the level of respect which She had for Prophet (asws), but also the grudge for those people.

We would first show the narration which mention Imam Ali (asws). And then We would see those which also mentioned Bibi Fatima (asws) as well.

Let us see the narration

Nauman bin Basheer said that once Abu Bakar came to meet Holy Prophet (asws), and asked for permission. He heard the loud voice of Ayesha, who was saying:

By God! I know that You love Ali (asws) more than my father (she said this twice or thrice)

When Abu Bakar got permission, He entered, and got hold of her, and said:

O Daughter of Fulan! You are raising your voice on Holy Prophet (asws) [1]

Sheikh Shoaib ul Arnawut terms the Chain Hasan [2]

Similarly, We find in another narration from Musnad Ahmad

Nauman bin Basheer says that Abu Bakar came to meet Holy Prophet (asws) and asked for permission. He heard Ayesha who raised her voice on Holy Prophet. When He was given permission, He entered. He said:

O Daughter of Umm Roman! You raised your voice on Prophet?

So Holy Prophet (asws)came between her and Him.

Narrator said that Abu bakar then left. Holy Prophet (asws) said to make peace: Do You seen How I saved you from that man.

Narrator said: Then Abu Bakar came back, and asked for permission, When He entered, he said: O Prophet! combine me in your peace like you combined me in your fight [3]

Interestingly, Urdu translator, Molvi Zafar Iqbal, tried to weaken the narration by saying that It has been termed Daif by Albani in his Sunan Abi Daood. But When We see Sunan Abi Daood, we find that the narration actually comes with different chain; and even the words are different………

……….[4]

But this points to the sad reality regarding vast majority of Scholars of Ahlusunnah who would like to deceive their followers…………It would have been much better that Molvi Zafar Iqbal had consulted Research by Sheikh Shoaib ul Arnawut, who said regarding this chain

Chain is Sahih on terms of Muslim, Al A’zar bin Horith is narrator of Muslim, rest all are narrators of Sheikhain {Bukhari and Muslim} [5]

Keep in mind that the chain of Abi Daood is even Sahih, since all narrators of that Narration are Thiqa.

And even this narration in general has been accepted as Sahih by many other people, including Ibn Hajar. He said in Fath ul Bari

Ahmad, Abu Daood, and Nisai narrated with Sahih Sanad from Nauman bin Basheer that ……… [6]

Hafiz Haithmi also accepted Authenticity of this narration, and said

I say: Abu Daood mentioned it without discussion of Love of Ali (asws)

It has been narrated by Bazaar, and its narrators are narrators of Sahih. Tabarani narrated it with Daif Chain [7]

Researcher of book, Fadail us Sahaba, by Ahmad bin Hanbal; Wasi Ullah bin Mohammad Abbas also accepted authenticity of this narration, and termed it Hasan [8]

It is also present in Khasais-e-Ali, and Abu Ishaq Haweeni al Athari, Balooshi and Qari Faidi, all three accepted its authenticity [9]

NOW

Let us see those narration which also mentioned Bibi Fatima (asws)

Hafiz Haithmi mentioned in his Majma

Nauman bin Basheer narrates that Abu Bakar came to meet Holy Prophet (asws), and He heard voice of Ayesha in loud tone, and She was saying:

by God! I know that Ali and Fatima (asws) are more beloved to you than me and my father……………….

I say: Abu Daood narrated it without mentioning Ali and Fatima (asws)

It has been narrated by Ahmad and narrators are Narrators of Sahih [10]

Shokani also mentioned this narration in his Dar-us-Sahaba, in the Chapter: Manaqib ul Batool (Fatima) bin Mohammad (asws); and said

Narrated by Ahmad with narrators which are narrators of Sahih [11]
