Question:- sir! there is a saying of imam baqir asws that he said

“who is unaware of the zulm being done to us, and is unaware of the rights of ours which were snatched; he is a partner with those cruel people”

{aaqab ul aamal, page 208; bihar ul anwaar, vol 27, page 55}

please explain this

Answer:- when a person travels his journey to perfection, his faith strengthens and he gets to the status of yaqeen/certainty; and it is a must for this journey that the person should know the reasons and secrets of life, and he is aware of the powers of allah; and aware of the life of his prophets and he should know about the troubles being faced by those AULIA who defended his religion.

when one sees the sacrifices of the family of prophet asws, and ponders on the troubles they faced, he did not think twice to realized that islam is the true religion; for if it was not true, whey would they face so much of troubles?

also, it is also necessary to pay the wage of prophethood.

when a momin sees the troubles being faced by mola ali asws, bibi fatima asws, and aimmah in particular imam hussein asws, and looks at the stead fastness of these great people, he also gets the lesson of steadfastness and his maarifat of aal-e-mohammad asws also increases.

its practical advantage is that his love for aal-e-mohammad asws increases, and his hatred to their enemies develops. and when one will love aal-e-mohammad, he will perform the good deeds, and will refrain from bad deeds like those of their enemies;

aal-e-mohammad have narrated rewards for weeping for the troubles they faced; and they said: who will cry or pretend to cry, or will narrate poetry, allah will give him great reward.

aal-e-mohammad backed up their poets, and gave them gifts, and they arranged majalis in their homes,

imam baqir had fixed 800 dirham for those ladies who would recite sad poetry (marthiya) on their deaths; and imam said that it should be done for 10 years.

so we should not only know the troubles they faced, but we should also try to follow their seerat.
