[from the work of brother master ier]

Ibn Taymiyyah in his false book “Minhaj as-Sunnah”, 8/42-43 claimed that Ibn Masud and others from the companions didn’t take anything from Ali.

We say:

Every muslim can find many facts that these words are false. It is enough to read the biography of Imam Ali  from rijal books. And we can see that many of the great companions did take fatwas, narrations from Imam Ali . We’ll mention some sources here, but everyone can find more information about this matter on inthernet or from books.

Hafidh al-Mizzi said under the biography of Imam Ali :

One of the Rabbanic scholars, famous and brave, and the mentioned ascetics, and one of the first to come to Islam… his knowledge however, was from that of high status, he narrated from Rasulallah  586 traditions, al-Bukhari and Muslim agreed about 20 of them and alone in al-Bukhari 9 and in Muslim 15.

And narrated from him: his three sons – al-Hasan, al-Hussain and Muhammad b. al-Hanafiyyah, and Ibn Masud, Ibn Umar, Ibn Abbas, Abu Musa, Abdillah b. Jafar, Abdillah b. al-Zubayr, and Ibu Saed, Zayd b. Arqam, and Jabir b. Abdillah… and the famous Tabeins narrated from him.

It was narrated from ibn Masu’ud that he said: We used to say that Ali is the best of judge of Medina.”

And ibn Mussayeb said: “No one used to say “ask me” except Ali.”

And Ibn Abbas said: Ali was given 9/10 of knowledge and by Allah he also had a share of the remaining 1/10.

He said: And when something is confirmed for us by Ali, we don’t need to ask anyone else.

And the great companions asked him and came back to his fatwas in many places, matters and the many famous dilemmas.

In Tahzib al-Kamal under the Ameerul moumineen’s  biograpgy we read the names of people who narrated from Imam Ali

May Allah curse the enemies of Ahlubait , and those who intentionally ignore the fadhail of Ahlubait .
