i was reading a book named “khanwada-e-nabi: yani hazrat ali, hasnain aur hazrat fatima asws ke fadail wa manqib”
it is basically a translation of “manaqib ali wa alhasanain wa umhoma fatima zahra” by doctor abdul mo’ti amin qal’aji

it is the 2nd edition, published in year 1424 by matb’a adam islami, pakistan

on the main page, we see that it is written that

he narrated 7 narrations in this, let me quote a few

HADEETH NO. 1

He quotes from musnad ahmad,

zaid bin wahab says that once hazrat ali asws came to some kharijis living in basra. there was a man named al-ja’ad bin ba’ja. he said to hazrat ali asws
“o ali! fear allah, you have to die”
imam ali asws replied
“no, rather i will be killed. there would be strike of sword which will color this beard. this is something decided and who misquoted, he failed”
he charged imam ali asws about his dress. imam replied
“what do you have to do with the dress? this is far from pride and is such that muslims should imitate it”

CONCLUSION:-

in this collection of narrations, we have seen different narrations. i did give authentication for some of them
but overall, this topic which i started

that

amir ul momineen was aware of his martyrdom, and that he knew he would be hit on the head

that is confirmed not only due to authentic narrations, but also other narrations which are strengthening the one i started off with

let me give you the saying of mahmood ul hasan arif, the one who translated the book dr abdul mo’ti qal’aji
he says in the moqaddama/preface of his translation that

“as regards to this collection, there are some daif/weak narrations which have been explained in footnotes, but when these weak narrations are collected with different turq/ways, they become trustworthy”

[khanwada-e-nabi: yani hazrat ali, hasnain aur hazrat fatima asws ke fadail wa manqib, page 14]

and i have, therefore tried to give you different narrations in this regard
