We find in Musnad al Bazaar

Ibn Abbas said that one of them said that His father is a Sahabi, and was with my father. And shoes of people are better than his father

Haithmi said about the sanad

Narrated by Bazaar, and narrators are narrators of Sahih

Though acceptance of Haithmi would be sufficient, but someone may object to the chain that A’amash is Mudalis. But we do see that Mu’anan of A’amash from Adi bin Thabit has been accepted has Sahih. Let me give you this narration as a proof

Imam Muslim mentioned in his Sahih

It is Mu’anan, and has been accepted as SAHIH by

1- Muslim in his Sahih

2- Wasi Ullah bin Mohammad Abbas in Fadail us Sahaba, by Ahmad bin Hanbal [page 696, narration 948)

3- Ibn Haban in his Sahih (15/367)

4- Sheikh Shoaib ul Arnawut in takhreej of above mentioned book

These are some of the scholars who did not object to it

Anyways, coming back to the narration we were talking about,

One thing is proven from this narration. If there is just a claim of Sahabiyyat, it would not prove superiority, else Ibn Abbas should have kept quiet. Without good deeds, it is nothing………………………..

We have mentioned a similar narration before
