Giving advice to Momin/faithful has been stressed a lot in Shiite Ahadeeth, to the extent that Sheikh Kulaini made a chapter on this issue [1], where as Sheikh Hur Amili went on to make a chapter in his Wasail [2] terming it Compulsory.

Let us see a few authentic narrations in this regard

Sheikh Kulaini (r.a) mentions in his Al-Kafi

1 – عدة من أصحابنا، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن علي بن الحكم، عن عمر بن أبان عن عيسى بن أبي منصور، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: يجب للمؤمن على المؤمن أن يناصحه

Imam Abu Abdullah (asws) said that It is Compulsory upon a Momin to give advice to a Momin [3]

Allama Majlisi termed it Sahih [4]

Sheikh Behbudi also termed it Sahih [5]

Sheikh Kulaini also mentioned

2 – عنه، عن ابن محبوب، عن معاوية بن وهب، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال:
يجب للمؤمن على المؤمن النصيحة له في المشهد والمغيب

Imam Abu Abdullah (asws) said that It is compulsory upon momin to give advice to momin whether he is present or away. [6]

Allama Majlisi termed it Sahih [7]

Sheikh Behbudi also termed it Sahih [8]

Sheikh Hadi Najfi also termed it Sahih in Sanad [9]

Sheikh Kulaini also mentioned

3 – ابن محبوب، عن ابن رئاب، عن أبي عبيدة الحذاء، عن أبي جعفر (عليه السلام)قال: يجب للمؤمن على المؤمن النصيحة.

Imam Abu Jafar (asws) said that it is compulsory upon Momin to give advice to a momin [10]

Allama Majlisi termed it Sahih [11]

Also, we find in Al-kafi

5 – علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن النوفلي، عن السكوني، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن أعظم الناس منزلة عند الله يوم القيامة أمشاهم في أرضه  بالنصيحة لخلقه.

Imam Abu Abdullah (asws) said that Holy Prophet (asws) said that the greatest in people in view of Allah on day of judgement would be the one who is giving more advice to his creation [12]

Sheikh Hadi Najfi termed it Reliable in chain [13]

Sheikh Kulaini also made a chapter in his book regarding those who do not give advice to fellow Momins [14]; and in that we find

2 – عدة من أصحابنا، عن أحمد بن محمد بن خالد، عن عثمان بن عيسى، عن سماعة قال: سمعت أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) يقول: أيما مؤمن مشى في حاجة أخيه فلم يناصحه فقد خان الله ورسوله

Imam Abu Abdullah (asws) said that whosoever walks to help his brother Momin but does not give him advice, He has cheated Allah and His Prophet [15]

Allama Majlisi termed it Reliable/Mauthiq [16]

Sheikh Hadi Najfi termed it Mauthiq [17]
