Nawasib have been trying to deceive Simple Minded Sunnis for quiet long. Their Main aim is to create hatred in minds of these Sunnis against Shias. Recently the team of wilayat.net was informed that some Nasibis have been propagating that the day Uthman bin A’fan was killed, is 18th of Dhil Haj, & that Shias actually celebrate his death, rather than Eid-e-Ghadeer.

So We decided to look into this, and find what Authentic books of Ahlu Sunnah say regarding this.

We find Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal writing

Abu Uthman says that Uthman was killed in middle of Days of Tashreeq (11-12-13 of Dhil Haj) [1]

Sheikh Shoaib authenticates the Chain and says:-

Chain is Saheeh/Authentic, all narrators are trustworthy and narrators of Sheikhain (Bukhari and Muslim)

Important point to note in this narration is, that Abu Uthman al Nahdi,[2] who is narrator of all 6 books including Saheeh al Bukhari and Saheel al Muslim; has narrated from Umar, Imam Ali (asws) etc, so He was alive at that time when Uthman was killed. This is important because some narrations which state that Uthman was killed on 18th of Dhil Haj, have been narrated by those who were born long after his death [3].

Other references for this narration include

  1. al Maujam al Kabeer by Tabarani, who mentioned it with reliable chain [4]
  2. Ibn Abi Sheebah, in his al Musanif; who mentioned it with chain which is Saheeh/authentic, with all narrators trustworthy and that of Bukhari and Muslim [5]

Thus, In conclusion We say that Day of Death of Uthman was 12th of Dhil Haj as per Authentic Narration we mentioned in start. Therefore, sensible Sunni brothers must reject this Conspiracy of Nawasib where they want to incite hatred by falsely claiming that Shias are celebrating the death of ‘Uthman, while it is actually the Eid-e-Ghadir for Shias.

so Dhabi has clarified that He narrated From Umar, which simply means that He was alive at the time of death of Uthman

[3] One Such narration is present in al Maujam al Kabeer by Tabarani, and we find that Zubair bin Bukar has said that Uthman was killed on 18th. However, He was born in year 172 Hijri. Narration states

Words of Narration are:-

Let us review the narrators. Keep in mind that NAMES of Narrators are actually link to the books I have quoted from, so by clicking on the names, You can find the source.

Please keep in mind that there are many people who have narrated this narration from Mu’tamar; like in this narration we find that Abdul Razaq and A’rim Abu Nu’man took narration; so if we go down, there are two chains actually

We have mentioned all  narrators of the narration in foot note no. 4, and showed that narrators are narrators of Bukhari and Muslim.
