Bukhari made a Chapter in his Saheeh

‘

باب قول النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم هلاك أمتي على يدي أغيلمة سفهاء

 Chapter: Saying of Holy Prophet (asws) that This Nation would be destroyed on hands of Young Idiot boys
‘
And in this Chapter, we find a Narration from Abu Huraira
‘
6649 حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل حدثنا عمرو بن يحيى بن سعيد بن عمرو بن سعيد قال أخبرني جدي قال كنت جالسا مع أبي هريرة في مسجد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بالمدينة ومعنا مروان قال أبو هريرة سمعت الصادق المصدوق يقول هلكة أمتي على يدي غلمة من قريش فقال مروان لعنة الله عليهم غلمة فقال أبو هريرة لو شئت أن أقول بني فلان وبني فلان لفعلت فكنت أخرج مع جدي إلى بني مروان حين ملكوا بالشأم فإذا رآهم غلمانا أحداثا قال لنا عسى هؤلاء أن يكونوا منهم قلنا أنت أعلم

Musa bin Isma’eel narrated to us. ‘Amro bin Yahya bin Sa’eed bin ‘Amro bin Sa’eed narrated to us. He said, my grandfather informed me. He said: I was sitting with Abu Hurairah in the Prophet’s (pbuh) mosque in Madinah and Marwan was with us. Abu Hurariah said, I heard the truthful and trusted by Allah (i.e., the Prophet ) saying, “The destruction of my followers will be through the hands of young men from Quraish.
So Marwan said, May God curse (la’nah) those youths.”
Abu Hurairah said, “If I wanted to, i would say Banu So-and-so and Banu so-and-so, I would of.”
So I (Amro bin Yahya) left with my grandfather (the one who was with Abu Hurariah and Marwan) to Banu Marwan when they ruled Syria and saw them, youths causing mischief, so he (the grandfather) said to us, “Perhaps these are from them (ie the youths from Banu so-and-so that the Prophet(pbuh) warned about who would bring destruction to the Ummah).” So we said, “You know best”.

 Now, Ibn Hajar writes in his Fath-ul-Bari, 13/10
‘

أخرجه علي بن معبد ، وابن أبي شيبة من وجه آخر عن أبي هريرة ، رفعه أعوذ بالله من إمارة الصبيان ، قالوا وما إمارة التصبيان ؟ قال : إن أطعتموهم هلكتم – أي في دينكم – وإن عصيتموهم أهلكوكم أي في دنياكم بإزهاق النفس أو بإذهاب المال أو بهما ، وفي رواية ابن أبي شيبة ” أن أبا هريرة كان يمشي في السوق ويقول : اللهم لا تدركني سنة ستين ولا إمارة الصبيان ” وفي هذا إشارة إلى أن أول الأغيلمة كان في سنة ستين وهو كذلك فإن يزيد بن معاوية استخلف فيها وبقي إلى سنة أربع وستين فمات ثم ولي ولده معاوية ومات بعد أشهر ، وهذه الرواية تخصص رواية أبي زرعة عن أبي هريرة الماضية في علامات النبوة بلفظ : يهلك الناس هذا الحي من قريش ” وإن المراد بعض قريش وهم الأحداث منهم لا كلهم ، والمراد أنهم يهلكون الناس بسبب طلبهم الملك والقتال لأجله فتفسد أحوال الناس ويكثر الخبط بتوالي الفتن ، وقد وقع الأمر كما أخبر صلى الله عليه وسلم

Ali bin Ma’bad and Ibn Abi Sheebah narrate from Abu Huraira that He seeked Protection from the government of Youngsters. He was asked: What is it? He replied: If you obey them, You are destroyed, that means in Religion; and If you disobey them, They will destroy/kill You, that means take your life or money or both. And Ibn Abi Sheebah narrates that Abu Huraira would go to Market and say that O Allah! Do not show me Year 60, and government of Youngsters. And in this is Hint that the first of these Youngsters would be in this year. And it was like that, as Yazeed became Caliph, and remained so till year 64; and then died, and His son Mawia became Wali/Ruler; and died after one month. And This narration specifies the narration of Abu Zara’a from abu Huraira that was mentioned in Signs of Prophethood, with these words that People were destroyed/killed due to these Neighbours of Quraish. And the reason for saying {Some Quraish} is that some of them will shows Innovations, not all. And the meaning of Destruction is that they will be wishing for State, and will kill for it. And there will be chaos in state of People. And it happened like Prophet had said

This means that Ibn Hajar considered Yazeed to be the first of these Idiots.

Ibn Hajar also pointed to the Taqayya showed by Abu Huraira in this Narration. He says

‘

قوله : فقال أبو هريرة : لو شئت أن أقول بني فلان وبني فلان لفعلت ) في رواية الإسماعيلي : من بني فلان وبني فلان لقلت . وكأن أبا هريرة كان يعرف أسماءهم ، وكان ذلك من الجواب الذي لم يحدث به ، وتقدمت الإشارة إليه في كتاب العلم ، وتقدم هناك قوله : لو حدثت به لقطعتم هذا البلعوم ” .

The saying of Abu Huraira that If I wish to say Bani Fulan and Bani Fulan…..And abu Huraira knew their Names. And in answer to that He did not narrate, There is pointing to it in Kitab-ul-I’lm, and previously His saying that IF I narrate, my throat would be cut.

Famous Scholar of Ahlu Sunnah, Ibn Manzoor, mentions Yazeed ibn Mawia in Mokhtasir Tareekh Damishq, 8/252; on p. 255, He mentions This Narration

 ‘

عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: يكون خلف بعد ستين سنة ” أضاعوا الصلاة، واتبعوا الشهوات فسوف يلقون غيا ” ، ثم يكون خلف يقرؤون القرآن لا يجاوز تراقيهم، ويقرأ القرآن ثلاثة: مؤمن ومنافق وفاجر.قال الوليد بن قيس: المنافق كافر به، والفاجر يتأكل به، والمؤمن يعمل به.

 Abu Sa’eed narrates from Prophet (asws) who said: There will be people after Year 60 who will Miss Prayers, and follow desires, and will be thrown in Hell fire

Hafiz Haithmi has Authenticated this Narration by saying in Majma-uz-Zawaid, 6/346; that

10423 – وعن أبي سعيد الخدري قال : سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم يقول : 
تكون خلف بعد الستين { أضاعوا الصلوات واتبعوا الشهوات فسوف يلقون غيا } ثم يكون خلف يقرؤون القرآن لا يعدو تراقيهم ويقرأ القرآن ثلاثة مؤمن ومنافق وفاجر 
قال بشير : فقلت للوليد : ما هؤلاء الثلاثة ؟ قال : المنافق كافر به والفاجر يتأكل به والمؤمن يؤمن به 
رواه أحمد ورجاله ثقات ورواه الطبراني في الأوسط كذلك

 Narrated by Ahmad bin Hanbal, and all Narrators are Trustworthy
