We find in Musnad Imam Ahmad

Zaid bin Thabit narrates from Holy Prophet (asws): I am leaving behind Two Caliphs: Book of Allah, which is a rope connected to Sky and Earth, and My Progeny Ahlubait, and They will not separate till they meet Me at Pond

Narration has been authenticated by Scholars of AhluSunnah, like Sheikh Hamza Ahmad Zain terming the Chain Hasan in His research upon Musnad Imam Ahmad, 16/28, Narration 21470; And Haithmi terming the Narrators Trustworthy in Majma-uz-Zawaid, 1/170, Narration 784; & termed the Chain Great/Jayyad in Majma-uz-Zawaid, 9/162, Narration 14957

However, Our topic is related to Sheikh Shoaib, who said in His Research upon Musnad Ahmad, 35/456

Narration is Authentic due to Supporting evidence except for the Part ” They will not separate until They reach Pond

So, He gave impression as if This last part is not having any Supporting evidence, and so This part is not Authentic.

Interestingly, Faswi mentions in His al-Ma’rifat wa al-Tareekh, 1/536

Zaid bin Arqam narrates from Holy Prophet (asws): I am leaving behind in You, if You adhere to, You wont go astray, Book of Allah and My Progeny Ahlubait, and They will not separate till They reach Pond

So, We find that Exact same words are present in This Narration for which Sheikh Shoaib had said there is No Supporting Evidence.

What is even more interesting is the fact, that Arnawut himself, Authenticated this Narration of Faswi. He writes in Footnotes of “al-A’wasim wa al-Qawasim”, 1/178; while commenting upon Hadeeth-e-Thaqalyn, That

It has been mentioned by Faswi in al-Ma’rifat wa al-Tareekh, 1/536, and it is Authentic

Keep in mind that All Narrators of This Narration are Trustworthy, and It can be seen on This LINK
