Before I talk about what They wrote, Let me clarify that If you Read the Article they are trying to Refute, I have given Authentications for Two Main Narrations From Scholars of AhluSunnah. The first of these being Authenticated as Hasan Chain by Abu Ishaq Haweeni al-Athari. And The second one being Authenticated by WasiUllah bin Mohammad Abbas as Saheeh Chain.

But Worthy Readers! This Rijal is like a Tool for These Nasibis. They would Oppose Their Own Great Scholars of Hadeeth When That Particular Narration does not suit Them. Just See These 3 links so that You can actually be sure about the fact that They just play with Ilm-ur-Rijal.

However, I will Give authentications from Scholars of AhluSunnah as Usual, and let them play with Rijal. InshAllah, Readers can judge what They are actually upto.

Now, They wrote

Now, in none of the narrations have anything to do with jealousy in particular. However, the second narration by SoA does imply that Khalid had an issue with how Ali’s usage of the khums. Such a matter is a matter of jurisprudence and does not necessarily imply a personal grudge.

I had given Two Narrations along with Authentications from Scholars of AhluSunnah before. This time, Let me share from Different Sources This time.

We find in Musnad Imam Ahmad
23078 – حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبي ثنا وكيع ثنا الأعمش عن سعد بن عبيدة عن بن بريدة عن أبيه : انه مر على مجلس وهم يتناولون من على فوقف عليهم فقال انه قد كان في نفسي على علي شيء وكان خالد بن الوليد كذلك فبعثني رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم في سرية عليها على وأصبنا سبيا قال فأخذ علي جارية من الخمس لنفسه فقال خالد بن الوليد دونك قال فلما قدمنا على النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم جعلت أحدثه بما كان ثم قلت ان عليا أخذ جارية من الخمس قال وكنت رجلا مكبابا قال فرفعت رأسي فإذا وجه رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قد تغير فقال من كنت وليه فعلى وليه

Buraida says: I passed by a gathering, and people were speaking Ill of Imam Ali (asws) So I stayed there, and said: No doubt, There was something in My Soul for Ali, and Khalid bin Walid was like that. Holy Prophet (asws) sent us on a battle with Him (asws) and we got hold of Captives. So He too a girl for himself in Khums. Khalid bin Walid said other than that. When We came back, We told Him of What Happened and that Ali took a girl in Khums. When Prophet (asws) raised Head, His Facial expression had changed and He said:-

Whosoever I am Wali of, Ali is His Wali

Sheikh Shoaib says: Chain is Saheeh/Authentic on terms of Sheikhain (means Bukhari and Muslim)


The Words You should ponder Upon, are:-

انه قد كان في نفسي على علي شيء وكان خالد بن الوليد كذلك

There was something in My heart/Soul for Ali, and Khalid was similar in that

These words show, that Both shared same feelings for Imam Ali (asws). This is quite important for Us to remember, because whatever feelings Buraida had, same was the status of Khalid

Let us see another Authentic Narration, This time from Saheeh al-Bukhari, 5/163

4350 – حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مَنْجُوفٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلِيًّا إِلَى خَالِدٍ لِيَقْبِضَ الخُمُسَ، وَكُنْتُ أُبْغِضُ عَلِيًّا وَقَدِ اغْتَسَلَ، فَقُلْتُ لِخَالِدٍ: أَلاَ تَرَى إِلَى هَذَا، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: «يَا بُرَيْدَةُ أَتُبْغِضُ عَلِيًّا؟» فَقُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «لاَ تُبْغِضْهُ فَإِنَّ لَهُ فِي الخُمُسِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ»

Volume 5, Book 59, Number 637 :
Narrated by Buraida
The Prophet sent ‘Ali to Khalid to bring the Khumus (of the booty) and I hated Ali, and ‘Ali had taken a bath (after a sexual act with a slave-girl from the Khumus). I said to Khalid, “Don’t you see this (i.e. Ali)?” When we reached the Prophet I mentioned that to him. He said, “O Buraida! Do you hate Ali?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “Do you hate him, for he deserves more than that from the Khumlus.”


We were talking of Jealousy, But Here we find Hatred

Let us see Yet another Narration from Musnad Imam Ahmad

22967 – حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد ، حدثنا عبد الجليل قال : انتهيت إلى حلقة فيها أبو مجلز ، وابنا بريدة ( 2 ) فقال : عبد الله بن بريدة ، حدثني أبي بريدة قال : أبغضت عليا بغضا لم أبغضه أحدا

قط . قال : وأحببت رجلا من قريش لم أحبه إلا على بغضه عليا . قال : فبعث ذاك ( 1 ) الرجل على خيل فصحبته ما أصحبه إلا على بغضه عليا . قال : فأصبنا سبيا . قال : فكتب إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ابعث إلينا من يخمسه . قال : فبعث إلينا عليا ، وفي السبي وصيفة هي من أفضل السبي ( 2 ) فخمس ، وقسم فخرج رأسه يقطر ( 3 ) فقلنا : يا أبا الحسن ما هذا؟ قال : ألم تروا إلى الوصيفة التي كانت في السبي ، فإني قسمت وخمست فصارت في الخمس ، ثم صارت في أهل بيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، ثم صارت في آل علي ووقعت بها . قال : فكتب الرجل إلى نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقلت : ابعثني فبعثني مصدقا . قال : فجعلت أقرأ الكتاب وأقول : صدق . قال : فأمسك يدي والكتاب وقال : أتبغض عليا؟ قال : قلت : نعم . قال : فلا تبغضه ، وإن كنت تحبه فازدد له حبا ، فوالذي نفس محمد بيده لنصيب آل علي في الخمس أفضل من وصيفة قال : فما كان من الناس أحد بعد قول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أحب إلي من علي

Buraida said: I hated Ali like None would have hated Him. And I loved a Man from Quraish just because I hated Ali. So He was sent with Some riders and I accompanied Him just Because He Hated Ali. So We captives, and wrote to Holy Prophet (asws) so that He can take Khums from it. He sent to Us Ali. There was a girl in them, who was the Most Beautiful. He took the Khums and distributed it. When He came out, water drops came of His Head. We asked: O Abu Hasan! What is This? He said: Did You not see that There was a Girl, which was in Khums. That came in Khums to AhluBait, and from that to Progeny of Ali. So that Man wrote to Prophet. I told Him to send me with that Letter so that I testify. I then read that to Prophet and said: This is true. So Prophet (asws) took my hand away from Letter, and said: You hate Ali? I replied: Yes. He said: Do not hate him, and if you love Him, increase that. By the One who holds life of Muhammad, Part of Progeny of Ali in Khums is More than this Girl. Buraida said: After that statement of Prophet (asws), There was none who was more beloved to Me Than Ali.

In this Narration, Buraida may not have mentioned The name, but it was mentioned in Narration of Bukhari we mentioned just before.

The Narration also clearly states that Hatred in Their hearts did not start at the time of This incident, rather It was There even before They left For that Battle. And Buraida tells us that He joined that War because of that.

As regards to authentication of This Narration, We find Sheikh Shoaib al-Arnawut saying:-

حديث صحيح ، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل عبد الجليل – وهو ابن عطية القيسي – فهو صدوق حسن الحديث

Hadeeth is Saheeh, and This chain is Hasan due to Abdul Jalil, who is Truthful and Hasan/Good in Hadeeth.

It was translated by Online Translators of Bukhari as Hatred. Also, Urdu Translator of Musnad Ahmad, Molvi Zafar Iqbal, also translated it as Hatred; in Musnad Ahmad, Urdu Translation, 10/673

So, What We see is that Khalid bin Walid Hated Imam Ali (asws)

حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة ، حدثنا وكيع وأبو معاوية ، عن الأعمش . ح حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى واللفظ له ، أخبرنا أبو معاوية ، عنالأعمش ، عن عدي بن ثابت ، عن زر ، قال : قال علي : والذي فلق الحبة وبرأ النسمة ، إنه لعهد النبي الأمي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، إلي أن ” لا يحبني إلا مؤمن ، ولا يبغضني إلا منافق ” .

Imam Ali (asws) said: By the One who split seed, and created Living, Prophet (asws) gave me a Promise that None would love me, except a Momin; and None would Hate me except a Hypocrite
