Just saw on a Nasibi website that they tried to respond to an article I had written, which can be read HERE

Of course, This Narration has been authenticated by Sheikh Albany, and He included that Very Narration in Silsila Ahadeeth al-Saheehiyya, 5/608, Narration 2472.

Nasibi website wrote

It should also be noted that when an early scholar weakens a narration due to a hidden defect, his opinion has greater weight than that of a contemporary scholar with limited resources.

By Early Scholar, they mean Tirmidhi

And by contemporary Scholar, They refer to Sheikh Albany

Please keep in mind that Tirmidhi has been counted amongst Lenient Scholars in I’lm-ur-Rijal by Sheik Zubair Ali Zai in Preface to Sunan Abi Daood, 1/62.

But as Nasibi website mentioned that Preference should be given to Early Scholars. So let us see if This Narration has been authenticated by Early Scholars

We find that This Narration is present in Saheeh ibn Hibban, 2/126, Narration 401

Also, Ibn Khuzaima included This Narration in His Saheeh, 3/211, Urdu translation, Narration 1696. He trusted it to the extent that He argued with it in The Name of the Chapter (in which this is the Only Narration) that Looking behind at women does not spoil the prayers.

، والدليل على أن المصلي إذا نظر إلى من خلفه من النساء لم يفسد ذلك الفعل صلاته .

 And Proof that When He looks at someone behind in women, It does not spoil the prayers.

Apart from them, Ibn Abi Hatim included This Narration in His Tafsir, 9/56

Imam Hakim included This Narration in Mustadrak, 3/198. We find

3346 – حدثني علي بن حمشاد العدل ثنا إسماعيل بن إسحاق القاضي ثنا أبو عمر حفص بن عمر ثنا نوح بن قيس ثنا عمرو بن مالك عن أبي الجوزاء عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال : كانت تصلي خلف رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم امرأة حسناء من أحسن الناس و كان بعض القوم يستقدم في الصف الأول لأن لا يراها و يستأخر بعضهم حتى يكون في الصف المؤخر فإذا ركع قال : هكذا و نظر من تحت إبطه و جافى يديه فأنزل الله عز و جل في شأنهم { و لقد علمنا المستقدمين منكم و لقد علمنا المستأخرين }
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد و لم يخرجاه
و قال عمرو بن علي : لم يتكلم أحد في نوح بن قيس الطاحي بحجة و له أصل من حديث سفيان الثوري
تعليق الذهبي قي التلخيص : صحيح

Hakim termed The Chain Saheeh; and Dhabi also termed the Chain Saheeh

Also, famous website, islamweb.net Fatwa centre trusted This narration and argued with it.

ويدل عليه حديث ابن عباس عند الترمذي وصححه الألباني. قال: كانت امرأة تصلي خلف رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حسناء من أحسن الناس فكان بعض القوم يتقدم حتى يكون في الصف الأول لئلا يراها ويستأخر بعضهم حتى يكون في الصف المؤخر فإذا ركع نظر من تحت إبطيه فأنزل الله تعالى: وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ.

And The Proof for This is the Narration of Ibn Abbas in Tirmidhi………

If This Narration is so weak as These Nasibis are trying to portray, Why are their Scholars using it to Prove issues???
