We find a Narration in al-Ihsaan fi Taqreeb Saheeh ibn Hibban, 10/273


4428 – أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، عَنْ زِرِّ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ: كَانَتْ سُورَةُ الْأَحْزَابِ تُوَازِي سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ، فَكَانَ فِيهَا: الشَّيْخُ والشيخة إذا زنيا، فارجموهما البتة

Abi bin Ka’ab said: Surat-ul-Ahzab was equal to Surat-ul-Baqara, and it had the verse (When Sheikh and Shaikha do Zina, They are stoned)

Let us see the opinion of Sheikh Shoaib al-Arnawut about This Narration. He says

عاصم بن أبي النجود صدوق له أوهام، وحديثه في الصحيحين مقرون، وباقي السند ثقات على شرط الصحيح

A’sim bin Abi Najwad is Truthful, but erred/hallucinated; and His Narrations are there in Saheeh Bukhari and Muslim; while rest of Narrators are Trustworthy on terms of Saheeh

So, He did not give any opinion about Chain, rather just of Narrators. We refer to His other books, as to how He treated chains having A’sim bin Abi Najwad

In Tahreer Taqreeb-ut-Tehzeeb, which He Co-Authored with Sheikh Bashar A’wad Ma’roof; We find on 2/165, Narrator 3054

ثقة يهم, فهو حسن الحديث

Trustworthy, but hallucinated/erred; So He is Hasan-ul-Hadeeth (Good in Narration)

And When We refer to His Research upon Musnad Ahmad, he actually terms His Chains as Hasan

Let me share one example, He wrote on Musnad Ahmad, 1/211, Narration 35

إسناده حسن من أجل عاصم – وهو ابن أبي النجود – فهو حسن الحديث.

Chain is Hasan due to A’sim, He is Ibn Abi Najwad, and He is Hasan-ul-Hadeeth

This means, that the Narration We started with; it is also having Hasan Chain in view of Sheikh Shoaib al-Arnawut, though He did not mention it for whatever reason.

Keep in mind that The Narration is Saheeh in View of Ibn Hibban. Also, Hakim authenticated this chain, and Dhabi agreed to him.

3554 – أخبرنا أبو العباس أحمد بن هارون الفقيه ثنا علي بن عبد العزيز حجاج بن منهال ثنا حماد بن سلمة عن عاصم عن زر عن أبي بن كعب رضي الله عنه قال : كانت سورة الأحزاب توازي سورة البقرة و كان فيها الشيخ و الشيخة إذا زنيا فارجموهما البتة
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد و لم يخرجاه
