Many a times Nasibis would mock Shias for the Paranormal activities demonstrated by Aimmah-e-Ahlubait (asws). So in This post, We would concentrate What Ibn Taimiyyah had said, and What was told to us about Him. Reason for Choosing him is because Nasibis love him a lot.

He writes in His Majm’o-al-Fatawa, 11/324-325


و اما الثالث فمن يجتمع له الأمران بأن يؤتى من الكشف
والتأثيرالكونى ما يؤيد به الكشف والتأثير الشرعى وهو علم الدين والعمل به والأمر به ويؤتى من علم الدين والعمل به ما يستعمل به الكشف والتأثير الكونى بحيث تقع الخوارق الكونية تابعة للاوامر الدينية أو ان تخرق له العادة فى الأمور الدينية بحيث ينال من العلوم الدينية ومن العمل بها ومن الأمر بها ومن طاعة الخلق فيها وما لم ينله غيره فى مطرد العادة فهذه أعظم الكرامات والمعجزات وهو حال نبينا محمد وأبى
بكر الصديق وعمر و كل المسلمين 

Third: The one in whom Both are combined, so as He is given Kashaf (Allah makes things known to him) and al-Tatheer al-Kauni (Tatheer means to effect, and Kaun means World or worldly affairs) which is supported by Kashaf and Tatheer al-Sharai. He is the one who understood religion, acted upon it and ordered as per it. And so He was given (the power) due to this Knowledge and Acting upon it, which was used for Kashaf and al-Tatheer al-Kauni. From the angle that Matters of world/Kaun are under Orders of Religion or Paranormal power is obtained in matter of religion, and in acting upon it, and ordering it, and so that People follow it in this (religion), which others cannot. So this is the Greatest of Karamat and Miracles. And this was the status of Holy Prophet, Abu Bakr, Umar and All Muslim

Ibn Taimiyyah explained this in simple words in his Majmo’o-al-Fatawa, 3/156

وَمِنْ أُصُولِ أَهْلِ السُّنَّةِ وَالْجَمَاعَةِ: التَّصْدِيقُ بِكَرَامَاتِ الْأَوْلِيَاءِ وَمَا يُجْرِي اللَّهُ عَلَى أَيْدِيهِمْ مِنْ خَوَارِقِ الْعَادَاتِ فِي أَنْوَاعِ الْعُلُومِ وَالْمُكَاشَفَاتِ وَأَنْوَاعِ الْقُدْرَةِ وَالتَّأْثِيرَاتِ كَالْمَأْثُورِ عَنْ سَالِفِ الْأُمَمِ فِي سُورَةِ الْكَهْفِ وَغَيْرِهَا وَعَنْ صَدْرِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ مِنْ الصَّحَابَةِ وَالتَّابِعِينَ وَسَائِرِ قُرُونِ الْأُمَّةِ وَهِيَ مَوْجُودَةٌ فِيهَا إلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ.

And in the fundamental beliefs of Ahlu Sunnat wa al-Juma’at: is the acceptance/verification of Glories of Au’lia, which Allah carries out on their hands which are Paranormal in regards to Different fields, and detection of things, and different powers and their effects, as has been said in Past Nations like in Surat-ul-Kahf etc, and in start of this Nation in Companions of Prophet (asws), and those who Saw them, and those who would come later, and it will be present till day of Qayamat.

Let us see some examples as to what is meant by These Karamat which are being accepted by Ibn Taimiyya.

Ibn Taimiyyah writes in his book, Al-Nabuwaat, 2/807-808

وقد يكون إحياء الموتى على يد اتباع الأنبياء؛ كما قد وقع لطائفة من
هذه الأمة1، ومن اتباع عيسى2؛ فإن هؤلاء يقولون: نحن إنّما أحيى الله الموتى على أيدينا؛ [لاتّباع محمد، أو المسيح، فبإيماننا بهم، وتصديقنا لهم أحيى الله الموتى على أيدينا] 3

No doubt, making dead alive can happen on Hands of those who follow Prophets, as it has happened for a group in this nation [1] and those who followed Jesus [2]. They are those who say: We are the ones on whose Hand Allah has brought dead to life due to following of Mohammad or Jesus, for our faith in them, and testifying them, Allah brought dead to life on our hands

In the footnotes, We find researcher of the book, Abdul Aziz bin Salih writing

Also, Ibn Taimiyya wrote on 2/821

بخلاف إحياء الموتى: فإنّه اشترك فيه [كثيرٌ] 4 من الأنبياء، بل ومن الصالحين5.

On the other hand bringing dead to life, a lot of Prophets have done it (partner in doing it), rather amongst Pious People (who have done it)

In the footnotes, we find

In another book of Ibn Taimiyyah, al-Furqan bain Aulia al-Rehman wa Aulia al-Shaitan (الفرقان بين أولياء الرحمن وأولياء الشيطان ), He made a Heading on p. 158

كرامات الصحابة والتابعين

Karamat of Sahaba and al-Tabaeen

He mentions on p. 158-159

وكانت الملائكة تسلم على عمران بن حصين، وكان سلمان وأبو الدرداء يأكلان في صحفة، فسبحت الصحفة أو سبح ما فيها.

Angels would greet I’mran bin Haseen. And when Salman and Abu Darda would eat in a bowl, Bowl or what was in it, would Praise Allah. 

He mentions an incident of A’la ibn al-Hadrami on p. 162

ودعا الله لما اعترضهم البحر ولم يقدروا على المرور بخيولهم، فمروا كلهم على الماء ما ابتلت سروج خيولهم، ودعا الله أن لا يروا جسده إذا مات، فلم يجدوه في اللحد

When A’la reached at Sea, and They were unable to cross it with Their Horses, He prayed to Allah, and Then They walked on The Water, and even saddles of Their Horses were not affected. And He also prayed that When he dies, None should see His body, So He was not found in His Grave. 

He mentioned incident of Abu Muslim Kholani walking on Dajla river. I have written that incident with Authentic Chain on This LINK

He mentions on p. 163

وتغيب الحسن البصري عن الحجاج، فدخلوا عليه ست مرات فدعا الله عز وجل فلم يروه

Hasan Basri hid from Hajaj, So Hajaj went to him 6 times, but He prayed to Allah, and Hajaj could not see him. 

He also wrote incident of Wasila bin Asheem on This page, in which He mentioned that his horse died in a battle, and He prayed, And It got alive again.

He writes on p. 165

وكان مطرف بن الشخير إذا دخل بيته سبحت معه آنيته، وكان هو وصاحب له يسيران في ظلمة، فأضاء لهما طرف السوط.

And When Matraf bin Shakher would enter His House, His Utensils would Praise Allah with Him. And When He would go out with His companions in dark, The Sides of His Whip would give light

Let me share some information about Ibn Taimiyyah Now. What His students said about Him.

Ibn Qayyam writes in His book, Madarij-us-Salikeen, 2/459

وَأَخْبَرَنِي غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ بِأُمُورٍ بَاطِنَةٍ تَخْتَصُّ بِي مِمَّا عَزَمْتُ عَلَيْهِ، وَلَمْ يَنْطِقْ بِهِ لِسَانِي.
وَأَخْبَرَنِي بِبَعْضِ حَوَادِثَ كِبَارٍ تَجْرِي فِي الْمُسْتَقْبَلِ. وَلَمْ يُعَيِّنْ أَوْقَاتَهَا. وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ بَعْضَهَا وَأَنَا أَنْتَظِرُ بَقِيَّتَهَا.
وَمَا شَاهَدَهُ كِبَارُ أَصْحَابِهِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَضْعَافُ أَضْعَافِ مَا شَاهَدَتْهُ. وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.

Many times Ibn Taimiyyah told me my Personal hidden issues, which I had intended to speak, but not spoken Yet. And He told me of Great incidents which were to happen in Future, and not mentioned their time. I have seen some of them, and I am waiting for the others to occur. And what has been seen by His Grand companions is more than what I have seen. 

Interestingly, Ibn Qayyam says on 2/458 that Ibn Taimiyyah had foretold that Tataris would attack Syria and there would be lots of killings. And then He also foretold that Tataris would lost this time. When He was asked again and again, He had replied that Allah had written it on Looh-e-Mahfooz. Ibn Qayyam also mentions in His book, al-Rooh (The Spirit), p. 34

وَقد حَدَّثَنى غير وَاحِد مِمَّن كَانَ غير مائل إِلَيّ شيخ الْإِسْلَام ابْن تَيْمِية أَنه رَآهُ بعد مَوته وَسَأَلَهُ عَن شَيْء كَانَ يشكل عَلَيْهِم من مسَائِل الْفَرَائِض وَغَيرهَا فَأَجَابَهُ بِالصَّوَابِ

And Many people told me who were not even inclinced to Sheikh Ibn Taimiyyah, that They saw him after His death, and asked him about difficulties which They were facing in Different issues in compulsory acts and others; and He replied them correctly.
