Ibn Hazm makes a Chapter in His book, al-Mohalla, 9/127,

Issue of Nikah-al-Muta’a

And then writes in it

It is proven that there was a group in People of Past including Sahaba, who considered Muta’a to be allowed. These included Asma’a bin Abu Bakr, Jabir bin Abdullah, Ibn Ma’sood, Ibn A’bbas, Muawiyyah bin Abu Sufian, Amro bin Hareeth, Abu Sa’eed Khidri, Salma, Ma’bad bin Umayya bin Khalaf….

We do find a Narration in Nisai’s Sunan-al-Kubra, 5/233

Mahmood bin Ghilan (Narrator of Bukhari and Muslim) > Abu Daood (Narrator of Muslim) > Sho’ba bin Hajjaj  (Narrator of Bukhari and Muslim) > Muslim al Quri (Narrator of Muslim):-

Muslim said that We met Asma bin Abu Bakar and asked her about Muta’a with women, She replied: We did it in era of Holy Prophet

This Narration is also present in Musnad Abu Daood Tayalsi, 3/208

Let us support this Narration with another one from Tahawi’s Sharah Ma’ani-ul-Athaar, 3/24. He makes a Chapter named, Nikah-ul-Muta’a, and includes this Narration in that. Just to remind that Ibn Hazam’s chapter was also named Nikah-ul-Muta’a. Coming to the Narration

Saeed bin Jubair says that I heard Abdullah bin Zubair’s speech, and He was talking about Ibn Abbas and criticizing His opinion about Muta’a. So Ibn Abbas said: Ask Your Mother if You are true. He asked, and She replied: Ibn Abbas is speaking truth, it is like that. Ibn Abbas said: If I wish, I can name those Men from Quraish who were born due to this.

A brief review of Narrators is as under

In a nutshell

We see Two Narrations supporting each other, and Opinion of Ibn Hazam about Asma bin Abu Bakar considering it allowed
