IslamqQA is a salafi website, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammad Salih al-Munjid. He is student of Ibn Baaz, Albani, Uthmain and others. Following words are taken from this website, and I have added screen shots at the end of translation. I gave my comments in italics.

يذكر المؤرخون والمحدِّثون حادثةً في صدر التاريخ ، فيها ذكر قدوم عمر بن الخطاب وطائفة من أصحابه بيتَ فاطمةَ بنتِ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، يطلبُ تقديم البيعة لأبي بكر الصديق ، رضي الله عنهم جميعا .

Scholars of History and Hadeeth/Narrations have mentioned an incident in start of (Islamic) history. And it talks about Umar and a group of Companions coming to the house of Fatima, and asking for paying allegiance to Abu Bakr.

وثمة قدر متفق عليه بين الروايات ، جاء من طرق صحيحة ، واشتهر ذكره بين أهل العلم ، كما أن هناك قدرا كبيرا من الكذب والاختلاق الذي أُلصق بهذه الحادثة .

ونحن نرجو من القارئ الكريم التنبه واليقظة ؛ كي يصل معنا إلى أقرب تصوير لتلك الحادثة ، فلا يخلط عليه الكذَّابون والمفترون ما يدسُّونه في التاريخ كذبا وزورا .

And there are certain points which are similar between these Narrations, and have come to us via authentic Chains. And these are famous between knowledgeable people. And lies etc have also been mixed with these. So we warn the respected reader that so that he can get the true picture of this incident, and does not get deceived by liars who have mixed it in history.

الثابت المعلوم أن عليا والعباس والفضل بن العباس والزبير بن العوام تأخروا عن حضور بيعة أبي بكر الصديق في سقيفة بني ساعدة ، وذلك لانشغالهم بتجهيز رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم للدفن ، فوجدوا في أنفسهم : كيف ينشغل الناس بأمر الخلافة ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لم يدفن بعد ، أما باقي الصحابة رضوان الله عليهم فعملوا على تعيين الخليفة كي لا يبيت المسلمون من غير أمير ولا قائد ، وأرادوا بذلك أن يحفظوا على المسلمين أمر دينهم ودنياهم .

It is known and proven that Ali asws, Abbas, FAdal bin Abbas and Zubair bin A’wam delayed paying allegiance to Abu Bakr in saqifa. This was because they were busy in burial of Holy Prophet asws. And they thought: how can these people be busy in matters of caliphate when Holy Prophet asws has not been buried? Whereas other companions were busy in appointing Caliph so that Muslims do not spend a night without a leader and chief. Their intent was to protect religion and worldly affairs of Muslims

I, Slave of Ahlubait, would humbly say: If this is such an important issue, which Companions could see and understand, why did Holy Prophet not pay attention to it? The religion which had reached the state of perfection ( اکمال) , Why it missed it? Holy Prophet asws was not even buried yet, and we see differences arising.

فلما دُفن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اعتزل علي بن أبي طالب ومن معه من بعض قرابة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الأيام الأولى ولم يبايعوا ، ليس رغبة عن البيعة ، ولا حسدا لأبي بكر ، ولا منازعةً له ، إنما لِما رآه عليٌّ من الخطأ في استعجال أمر الخلافة قبل الدفن ، حتى جاء عمر بن الخطاب وبعض الصحابة بيت فاطمة رضي الله عنها ، وطلب منها إبلاغ علي والزبير ومن معهم بلزوم المبادرة إلى بيعة أبي بكر الصديق ، درءا للفتنة ، وحفظا لجماعة المسلمين ، فلما سمعوا تشديد عمر بن الخطاب في هذا الأمر ، سارعوا بإعلان البيعة ، وذكروا فضل أبي بكر رضي الله عنه وأحقيته بالخلافة ، واعتذروا عن تأخرهم بما اعتذروا به .

So when Holy Prophet asws was burid, Ali and those who were with him from some of the relatives of Holy Prophet, got to a side in initial days, and did not pay allegiance. They did not like bayat, not because they were jalous of abu bakr, or that they had some dispute, but because they thought that it was wrong to do haste in matter of caliphate before burial. Till that time came when Umar and some of His companions came to house of Hazrat Fatima asws, and asked her to send Ali, Zubair and those with them, so that fitnah can be removed, and Muslims can be protected. When they saw strictness of Umar, they announced their bayat, and talked about greatness of Abu bAkr, and that his caliphate was correct. And presented their excuse for delay which was accepted

I, Slave of Ahlubait, would say:- So the Salafi Scholar accepts Umar and His companions going to House of Fatima asws, and that allegiance was paid when they saw “Strictness of Umar”

روى أسلم القرشي – مولى عمر بن الخطاب – رضي الله عنه ، قال : ( حين بُويع لأبي بكر بعد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، كان علي والزبير يدخلان على فاطمة بنت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فيشاورونها ويرتجعون في أمرهم ، فلما بلغ ذلك عمر بن الخطاب خرج حتى دخل على فاطمة فقال : يا بنت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ! والله ما من أحد أحب إلينا من أبيك ، وما من أحد أحب إلينا بعد أبيك منك ، وايم الله ما ذاك بمانعي إن اجتمع هؤلاء النفر عندك إن أمرتهم أن يحرق عليهم البيت .

قال : فلما خرج عمر جاؤوها فقالت : تعلمون أن عمر قد جاءني ، وقد حلف بالله لئن عدتم ليحرقن عليكم البيت ، وايم الله ليمضين لما حلف عليه ، فانصرِفوا راشدين ، فَرُوا رأيَكم ولا ترجعوا إلّيَّ ، فانصرفوا عنها ، فلم يرجعوا إليها حتى بايعوا لأبي بكر )

أخرجه أحمد في “فضائل الصحابة” (1/364) وابن أبي شيبة في “المصنف” (7/432) وعنه ابن أبي عاصم في “المذكر والتذكير” (1/91) ورواه ابن عبد البر في “الاستيعاب” (3/975) من طريق البزار – ولم أجده في كتب البزار المطبوعة – وأخرجه الخطيب في “تاريخ بغداد” (6/75) مختصرا : كلهم من طريق محمد بن بشر ثنا عبيد الله بن عمر عن زيد بن أسلم عن أبيه به .

قلت : وهذا إسناد صحيح

Aslam al-Quraishi, Slave of Umar narrated: When Bayat of Abu Bakr was done, Ali and Zubair entered house of Fatima, and they were discussing, when Umar got this news, he went out and came to Fatima, and said: O Daughter of Prophet! By God! None is more dear to me than Your father, and none is more dear to me after him than you, but By God! This will not stop me that these people have gathered with you, and I order to burn this house,. When Umar left, She told them: You know Umar came, and He took a promise that if you are here, He will burn this house. By God! He will do what he has promised. So you go and present your view, and do not come back. So they went and did not come back till they paid allegiance.

Ahmad has mentioned this in Fadail-us-Sahaba, 1/364; Ibn Abi Sheebah mentioned it in al-Musannif, 7/432, and from Him Ibn Abi Asim in his al-Muzakir wa al-Tazkeer, 1/91; and Ibn AbdulBar mentioned in al-Istiaab, 3/975 with his chain to al-Bazar, but I did not found it in published version of al-Bazaar; and al-Khateeb mentioned it in Tareekh Baghdaad, 6/75, all of them with chain of Mohammad bin Bashr— UbaidUllah bn Umar—Zaid bin Aslam—from His father

I say: This Chain is Authentic

I, Slave of Ahlubait, would say:-Threat of Umar is very much obvious. And its intensity was such that Hazrat Fatima asws told them that He will do what he has promised. It was mentioned before that they paid allegiance when they saw strictness of Umar, and this paragraph clarifies what they had seen.

وقد جاء في بعض الروايات القوية أيضا أنه حصلت بعض المنازعات بين عمر بن الخطاب ومن معه ، وبين الزبير بن العوام الذي كان مع علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه ، وذلك في بيت فاطمة رضي الله عنها ، إلا أن الله سبحانه وتعالى وقاهم فتنة الشيطان ، ودرأ عنهم الشقاق والنزاع .

In some authentic narrations, it is mentioned what can be summarized as: There was a dispute between Umar and those with him, and Zubair who was with Ali, and He was in house of Fatima, but Allah lifted the fitnah of Satan, and buried the dispute.

I, Slave of Ahlubait, would say:-So we do see that there was a dispute between Umar and Zubair, “who was in house of Fatima asws”. Please pay attention to these words. He was in the house, and there was a dispute………..

وروى الإمام الزهري (124هـ) قال : ( وغضب رجال من المهاجرين في بيعة أبي بكر رضي الله عنه ، منهم علي بن أبي طالب والزبير بن العوام رضي الله عنهما ، فدخلا بيت فاطمة بنت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ومعهما السلاح ، فجاءهما عمر رضي الله عنه في عصابة من المسلمين فيهم : أسيد ، وسلمة بن سلامة بن وقش – وهما من بني عبد الاشهل – ، ويقال : فيهم ثابت بن قيس بن الشماس أخو بني الحارث بن الخزرج ، فأخذ أحدهم سيف الزبير فضرب به الحجر حتى كسره )

رواه موسى بن عقبة (140هـ) عن شيخه الزهري ، ومن طريقه أخرجه عبد الله بن أحمد في “السنة” (2/553-554)

قلت : ورواية السير والمغازي من طريق موسى بن عقبة عن الزهري من أصح الروايات ، حتى قال ابن معين : ” كتاب موسى بن عقبة عن الزهري من أصح هذه الكتب ” . وكان الإمام مالك يقول : ” عليك بمغازي الرجل الصالح موسى بن عقبة ” . وقال الإمام الشافعي : ” ليس في المغازي أصح من كتاب موسى بن عقبة ” . وقال الذهبي : ” وأما مغازي موسى بن عقبة فهي في مجلد ليس بالكبير ، سمعناها ، وغالبها صحيح ومرسل جيد ” انتهى . انظر “سير أعلام النبلاء” (6/114-118) ، والزهري لم يدرك تلك الحادثة ، إلا أن روايته هذه جاءت موافقة لما سبق من روايات صحيحة، والله أعلم .

Imam Zuhri narrates that there were some men in Mohajireen who were angry with bayat of Abu Bakr, and these included Ali and Zubair. So they entered in house of Fatima (asws) and they had swords. So Umar came with group of Muslims, which included: Aseed, Salma bin salama, and it is said that there was Thabit bin Qais, so one of them took the sword of Zubair, and hit it with stone till it was broken.

It was  narrated by Musa bin Uqba from His Sheikh Zuhri, and with that chain, it was mentioned by Abdullah bin Ahmad in his al-Sunnah.

I say: narrations of Musa from Zuhri are the most authentic in regards to al-Sair and al-Maghazi, to the extent that Ibn Maeen said that : Book of Musa from Zuhri is the most authentic. And Imam Malik said that the pious man in regards to Maghazi is Musa bin Uqba. Al-Shafa’I said that there is none more authentic that book of Musa bin Uqba. Al-Dhabi said

 “As regards to Maghazi of Musa bin Uqba, it is in book form, and not much larg. Most of it is authentic, and Its Mursal is Jayyad/Great”. See Sair A’laam Nabala, 6/114-118

Though Zuhri did not see this incident but these narrations are in accordance with authentic narrations presented before.

I, Slave of Ahlubait, would say:- we read before that Zubair was “inside” house of Fatima asws. And one of them took sword from Him. How?

Let me remind Worthy reader what Abu Bakr had said, as mentioned in al-Ahadeeth al-Mukhtara, 1/89

فوددت أني لم أكن كشفت بيت فاطمة أو تركته وأن أعلق على الحرب

I wish I had not opened house of Fatima, and left it as such even if she had waged war.

Keep in mind that al-Muqaddasi termed it Hasan.

Ibn Taimiyya says in Minhaj us Sunnah, 8/291

وغاية ما يقال إنه كبس البيت لينظر هل فيه شيء من مال الله الذي يقسمه وأن يعطيه لمستحق

And what is said that they entered in house, it was because their intention was to see if there is anything from possessions of Allah, so that it can be distributed in deserving

So it means that they did enter……

And Bayat was done due to strictness of Umar…….
