There is a narration in Sahih Bukhari,4/179

Many sunnis criticize the reward mentioned for Ziarat of Imam Hussein (asws). They object to those narrations which state that if this Ziarat is performed, one will get rewards of Haj or that his sins are forgiven etc. Some ignorant would even charge that Shias don’t perform Haj.

Please keep in mind that Haj is one of the obligatory acts. Allah states in Surah Aal-e-Imran

In it are clear signs, the standing place of Ibrahim, and whoever enters it shall be secure, and pilgrimage to the House is incumbent upon men for the sake of Allah, (upon) everyone who is able to undertake the journey to it; and whoever disbelieves, then surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above any need of the worlds. Usually in month of Moharram, Shias are criticized for Matam (self beating) & Noha (Wailing). Claims are made that if you even cry, this goes against “patience”.

Though in Quran Allah says in Surat Yousaf

And he turned away from them, and said: “How great is my grief for Joseph!” And his eyes became white with sorrow, and he fell into silent melancholy.

Interestingly, narrations are presented from Sahih Bukhari and Muslim as if they are Hujjat/Proof upon Shias. For example, this Narration is often quoted

Read the rest of this entry »

Generally it is presumed that when a Sahabi narrates then it would mean that he is narrating from Holy Prophet asws.

Let us see a narration from Mustadrak, Imam Hakim, 2/535

Ibn Abbas narrates in explanation of 12th verse of Surah Talaq that there are 7 Earths, and there is a Prophet in each of them like Your Prophet, and Adam like your Adam, and Noah like Your Noah, and Ibrahim like Your Ibrahim, and Jesus like Your Jesus.

Hakim says Narration has authentic chain though it was not noted down (in Bukhari or Muslim)

Dhabi says it is Authentic

Sheikh Albany mentions this title in his Silsila Ahadeeth Saheehiyya, 4/329, Narration 1749

The first man who will change my Sunnah, will be a man from Banu Umayya

IslamqQA is a salafi website, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammad Salih al-Munjid. He is student of Ibn Baaz, Albani, Uthmain and others. Following words are taken from this website, and I have added screen shots at the end of translation. I gave my comments in italics.

On this website, it is mentioned

Scholars of History and Hadeeth/Narrations have mentioned an incident in start of (Islamic) history. And it talks about Umar and a group of Companions coming to the house of Fatima, and asking for paying allegiance to Abu Bakr. Read the rest of this entry »

Let us share a narration from al-Muntakhib min Musnad Abd bin Hameed, 2/360, research by Sheikh Mustafa A’dwi

Ayesha narrated: Prayers were made obligatory upon Holy Prophet consisting of two rak’at in Mecca, but When He went to Madina, four Rak’at were made obligatory. But two rakat were retained in journey. So Zuhri asked Urwa: What made Ayesha complete the prayers in Journey when we know that Allah made two rakat compulsory? He replied: She interpretated like Uthman when He completed prayers in Mina. Read the rest of this entry »

There is a very interesting narration in Saheeh Bukhari, 5/37

Sa’ad bin Abi Waqas, one of the 10 who were given news of Heaven, narrates: I did not hear Holy Prophet telling anyone walking Earth that He is amongst people of heaven except Abdullah bin Salam

This narration is also present in Saheeh Muslim, 4/1930

Now this is very strange that one of those who were part of Hadeeth Ashra Mubashira, he is saying that He did not hear it from Holy Prophet asws.

AhluSunnah may argue that he said “He did not hear Holy Prophet”; and not that “Holy Prophet did not say it”.

But the point is, He lived for quite some time. Do you think none of the Sahaba told him that He is part of the elite group?

And if some Sahabi did tell him, was he not aware that “All Sahaba are Adil/just” and that “Mursal of Sahabi is accepted”. Why was he not accepting their point then?

Now the main strategy for AhluSunnah would be do say: Well, none of the Sahaba ever told him, and We believe this.

Though it is very strange to believe, but let us talk about Hadeeth Ashra Mubashira. Read the rest of this entry »

In Sunni’s world of I’lm-ur-Rijal, this is an accepted principle that if a Sahabi has not even heard a narration from Holy Prophet asws, or He was not present at that time, but He says “Holy Prophet said”, it is considered as authentic.

For example,

Ibn Salah states this in his Moqaddama, p. 56;

Ibn Kathir in his Ikhtisaar Uloom-ul-Hadeeth, urdu translation, research by Sheikh Zubair Ali Zai p. 37 &  Sheikh Zubair Ali Zai wrote in the footnotes that Ibn Hajr stated that there is agreement between all Scholars of Hadeeth upon authenticity of Mursal of Sahabi
