Let us share a Narration from Sunan Darmi, 5/1365

2195 – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ اللَّجْلَاجِ، وَسَأَلَهُ، مَكْحُولٌ أَنْ يُحَدِّثَهُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَائِشٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللہ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ [ص:1366] يَقُولُ: «رَأَيْتُ رَبِّي فِي أَحْسَنِ صُورَةٍ» قَالَ: فِيمَ يَخْتَصِمُ الْمَلَأُ الْأَعْلَى؟ فَقُلْتُ: «أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ يَا رَبِّ» ، قَالَ: ” فَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيَّ فَوَجَدْتُ بَرْدَهَا بَيْنَ ثَدْيَيَّ، [ص:1367] فَعَلِمْتُ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، وَتَلَا {وَكَذَلِكَ نُرِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلِيَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُوقِنِينَ}

Holy Prophet said: I saw My Lord in best of Shape. He asked me: You know why there is a fight in Higher sky? I replied: You know more O Lord. So He placed His Hand on my Chest, and I could feel the coldness of it. And then I came to know what is in Skies and Earth. And then Holy Prophet recited the verse which states that this is how We showed Ibrahim kingdom of Skies and Earth so that He becomes in believers. 

Researcher, Sheikh Hussein Salim Asad termed the Chain Saheeh. 

Similar Narration is present in Saheeh Tirmidi, Research Albany, 3/316-317,and Albany termed it Saheeh.

Allama Jalal-ud-Deen Sayooti is considered among Great Scholars of AhluSunnah. Many of His books have got a lot of fame like Tafsir Dur-e-Manthur, al-Itqaan fi U’loom-ul-Quran etc. I will quote from His book, al-Hawi lil Fatawa ( الحاوی للفتاوی ), and Worthy Reader is free to deduce His own conclusion. We consult Vol 2, Page 317 onwards:-

وَفَصَّلَ الْقَاضِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْعَرَبِيِّ فَقَالَ: رُؤْيَةُ النَّبِيِّ – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ – بِصِفَتِهِ الْمَعْلُومَةِ إِدْرَاكٌ عَلَى الْحَقِيقَةِ، وَرُؤْيَتُهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ صِفَتِهِ إِدْرَاكٌ لِلْمِثَالِ، وَهَذَا الَّذِي قَالَهُ فِي غَايَةِ الْحُسْنِ، وَلَا يَمْتَنِعُ رُؤْيَةُ ذَاتِهِ الشَّرِيفَةِ بِجَسَدِهِ وَرُوحِهِ، وَذَلِكَ لِأَنَّهُ – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ – وَسَائِرَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ أَحْيَاءٌ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَرْوَاحُهُمْ بَعْدَ مَا قُبِضُوا وَأُذِنَ لَهُمْ بِالْخُرُوجِ مِنْ قُبُورِهِمْ وَالتَّصَرُّفِ فِي الْمَلَكُوتِ الْعُلْوِيِّ وَالسُّفْلِيِّ،  Read the rest of this entry »

Please keep in mind before we start, that there are three types of Hadeeth: Qaul (قول ) Fa’l ( فعل), Taqreer (تقرير ). Qaul means He (asws) said something, Fa’l means He did something; and Taqreer means something was done in front of Him, but He did not stop it. 

With this in mind, let us pay attention to a Narration in Musnad Ahmad, 29/360, with research of Sheikh Shoaib al-Arnawut

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِمَاسَةَ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ، قَالَ: لَمَّا أَلْقَى الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي قَلْبِي الْإِسْلَامَ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيُبَايِعَنِي، فَبَسَطَ يَدَهُ إِلَيَّ، فَقُلْتُ: لَا أُبَايِعُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ حَتَّى تَغْفِرَ لِي مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِي، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ” يَا عَمْرُو أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ الْهِجْرَةَ تَجُبُّ مَا قَبْلَهَا مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ، يَا عَمْرُو أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ يَجُبُّ مَا كَانَ قَبْلَهُ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ “)

Let me share a Narration from Tafsir Ibn Abi Hatim. Ibn Abi Hatim is one of the big guns of AhluSunnah Rijal. And His Tafsir is considered to be Authentic one. He writes in His Tafsir, 10/3241-3242

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَانَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَى كُرْسِيِّهِ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ
18355 – وَبِسَنَدٍ قَوَيٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: أَرَادَ سُلَيْمَانُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ الْخَلاءَ فَأَعْطَى الْجَرَادَةَ خَاتَمَهُ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ، وَكَانَتْ أَحَبَّ نِسَائِهِ إِلَيْهِ فَجَاءَ الشَّيْطَانُ فِي صُورَةِ سُلَيْمَانَ فَقَالَ لَهَا: هَاتِي خَاتَمِي فَأَعْطَتْهُ فَلَمَّا لَبِسَهُ دَانَتْ لَهُ الْجِنُّ وَالْإِنْسُ وَالشَّيَاطِينُ، فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ سُلَيْمَانُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ مِنَ الْخَلَاءِ قال لها: هَاتِي خَاتَمِي فَقَالَتْ: قَدْ أَعْطَيْتُهُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ: أَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ قَالَتْ: كَذَبْتَ لَسْتَ سُلَيْمَانَ فَجَعَلَ لَا يَأْتِي أَحَدًا يَقُولُ: أَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ إِلا كَذَّبَهُ حَتَّى جَعَلَ الصِّبْيَانُ يَرْمُونَهُ بِالْحِجَارَةِ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ عَرَفَ أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَقَامَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ.
فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَنْ يَرُدَّ عَلَى سليمان عليه السلام سلطانه ألْقَى فِي قُلُوبِ النَّاسِ إِنْكَارَ ذَلِكَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَأَرْسَلُوا إِلَى نِسَاءِ «1» سُلَيْمَانَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ فَقَالُوا لهن أيكون من سليمان شيء؟ قلنا: نَعَمْ إِنَّهُ يَأْتِينَا وَنَحْنُ حُيَّضٌ، وَمَا كَانَ يَأْتِينَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ

Sheikh Nasir Hussein has been one of My Favourite Arabic Researchers. I have translated many of His researches on My Blog. Let me share another work of His. That work can be read in Arabic over HERE. He quotes from al-Yaqeen by Syed Ibn Taoos, p. 294. The Chain of Narration has two parts. First, Syed Taoos mentions His Chain to the book of Mohammad bin Marwan bin Abbas, from which He has taken the Narration. Many a times Nasibis would mock Shias for the Paranormal activities demonstrated by Aimmah-e-Ahlubait (asws). So in This post, We would concentrate What Ibn Taimiyyah had said, and What was told to us about Him. Reason for Choosing him is because Nasibis love him a lot.

We find in Sunan Ibn Maja, 2/383, Narration 1385

[1385] حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ سَيَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَنِيِّ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا ضَرِيرَ الْبَصَرِ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ (ص) فَقَالَ: ادْعُ اللَّهَ لِي أَنْ يُعَافِيَنِي، فَقَالَ: ” إِنْ شِئْتَ أَخَّرْتُ لَكَ وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ دَعَوْتُ “، فَقَالَ: ادْعُهْ، ” فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ فَيُحْسِنَ وُضُوءَهُ، وَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَيَدْعُوَ بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ وَأَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ، يَا مُحَمَّدُ، إِنِّي قَدْ تَوَجَّهْتُ بِكَ إِلَى رَبِّي فِي حَاجَتِي هَذِهِ لِتُقْضَى اللَّهُمَّ شَفِّعْهُ فِيَّ “، قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاق: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ

We find in al-I’lal wa Ma’rifat-ur-Rijal, by Ahmad  bin Hanbal, 2/492

3243 – سألته عن الرجل يمس منبر النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم ويتبرك بمسه ويقبله ويفعل بالقبر مثل ذلك أو نحو هذا يريد بذلك التقرب إلى الله جل وعز فقال لا بأس بذلك

Ahmad bin Hanbal was asked about a man who touches the Minbal of Holy Prophet (asws) and gain blessings by touching that & kissing that, and does that with Grave like it or similar to it, and He intends to Gain Nearness to Allah with that. Read the rest of this entry »

Dr Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi writes in his book, Mohazirat Hadeeth, p. 68; regarding some Scholars of AhluSunnah who believed that Faith can increase or decrease, like it is present in Quran that When a verse is revealed, Their Faith increases. And He mentioned that Bukhari was amongst those who believed in so. At the same time, He mentions Abu Hanifa, that He said that Faith is fixed, neither it increases, nor decreases.
