Read the rest of this entry »

Ibn-ul-Abideen Hanfi writes in His book, Rad-ul-Mokhtar ala Dur-ul-Mukhtar

As regards to Salman Farsi, He was superior to Abu Hanifa in regards to Companionship, but not in regards to Knowledge, Ijtihad, propagation of religion and compilation of Orders.

I ll share part of a narration; and we find in musnad ahmad

Amr bin ghalib says that once he visited Ayesha alongwith ammar and malik ashtar. Ammar said: o mother! Ayesha replied: I am not your mother. Ammar said: you are my mother even if you donot like it

[musnad ahmad, urdu, vol 11, page 459-460]

Sheikh shoaib says hadeeth is sahih [42/463 /25700]

so, ayesha is umm-ul-momineen but not mother of sahabi? what does this mean? he was not a momin? or ayesha was lying? or what?

here is what we find in sahih muslim

it is part of a long narration; i am just quoting part of it

The narrator says: I came close to him (‘Abdullah b. ‘Amr b. al-‘As) and said to him: Can you say on oath that you heard it from the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam)? He pointed with his hands to his ears and his heart and said: My ears heard it and my mind retained it. I said to him: This cousin of yours, Mu’awiya, orders us to unjustly consume our wealth among ourselves and to kill one another, while Allaah says:” O ye who believe, do not consume your wealth among yourselves unjustly, unless it be trade based on mutual agreement, and do not kill yourselves. Verily, God is Merciful to you” (iv. 29). The narrator says that (hearing this) Abdullah b. ‘Amr b. al-As kept quiet for a while and then said: Obey him in so far as he is obedient to God; and diqobey him in matters involving disobedience to God.

[sahih muslim, (The Book on Government ), CHAPTER: FULFILMENT OF THE COVENANT MADE WITH THE CALIPHS IS IMPERATIVE. THE CALIPH TO WHOM ALLEGIANCE IS SWORN IN THE FIRST INSTANCE HAS AN ESTABLISHED SUPREMACY OVER THOSE WHO ASSUME POWERS LATER; narration 4546]

it is also there in musnad ahmad, urdu version, vol 3, page 506
