regarding the verse

And the unbelievers say: why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord? but thou art truly a warner, and to every people a guide

there is a hadeeth which says that hadi in this verse is mola ali asws

so let me give you the ahadeeth regarding it
and inshallah prove that they are hasan, rather more than that

we start off with tafsir tibri

tibri gave two isnaad for this hadeeth; i ll quote one


 حدثنا أحمد بن يحيى الصوفـيّ، قال: ثنا الـحسن بن الـحسين الأنصاري، قال: ثنا معاذ بن مسلـم، ثنا الهروي، عن عطاء بن السائب، عن سعيد بن جبـير، عن ابن عبـاس، قال: لـما نزلت { إنَّـمَا أنْتَ مُنْذِرٌ وَلِكُلّ قَومٍ هادٍ } وضع صلى الله عليه وسلم يده علـى صدره، فقال: ” أنَا الـمُنْذِرُ وَلِكُلّ قَوْمٍ هادٍ ” وأومأ بـيده إلـى منكب علـيّ، فقال: ” أنْتَ الهادِي يا عَلـيّ، بك يَهْتَدِي الـمُهْتَدُون بَعْدِي “.


ibn abbass says that when the verse was revealed; prophet placed his hand on chest of ali asws; and then said i am the warner and for every nation is a guide; and then he nodded his hand on ali; and said “o ali! you are the hadi, and you will guide the guided ones after me

i ll give the opinion of ibn hajar asqalani regarding this

he said


أخرجه الطبري بإسناد حسن من طريق سعيد بن جبير عن بن عباس قال لما نزلت هذه الآية وضع رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم يده على صدره وقال أنا المنذر وأومأ إلى على وقال أنت الهادي بك يهتدي المهتدون بعدي

look carefully, he said


أخرجه الطبري بإسناد حسن من طريق سعيد بن جبير عن بن عباس


this chain is a slap on the face of nasibis who say that this is not an authentic hadeeth

plus, ibn abu hatim noted down a similar hadeeth in his tafsir
page 2225, vol 8

plus, the number of chains for this hadeeth is also not less

Ibn Arabi has related it, in his Mu’ajmam through two chains,
Ibn Jarir al-Tabari, in his Tafsir (Vol. 3, 142) from two chains,
al-Haskani in Shawahid Tanzil (Vol. 1, p. 381) through thirteen chains,
Ibn Asakir in his Tarikh (Vol. 40, p.359) through four chains,
Imam al-Hakim (Vol. 3) through one chain,
and Ibn Hatim in his Tafsir (Surat al-Ra’d) through one chain.

so it is a huge amount

plus, keep in mind that there is a similar narration where we find that holy prophet said that a man from bani hashim will be the guide
and that hadeeth is sahih

عن علي في قوله { إنما أنت منذر ولكل قوم هاد } قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : المنذر والهاد رجل من بني هاشم
