now,let me share what i found in al bidaya

حديث آخر:

قال يعقوب بن سفيان: ثنا عبيد الله بن معاذ، ثنا أبي، ثنا شعبة عن أبي سلمة، عن أبي نضرة، عن أبي هريرة أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لعشرة من أصحابه: « آخركم موتا في النار » فيهم سمرة بن جندب قال أبو نضرة: فكان سمرة آخرهم موتا.

قال البيهقي: رواته ثقات إلا أن أبا نضرة العبدي لم يثبت له من أبي هريرة سماع والله أعلم.

ثم روى من طريق إسماعيل بن حكيم عن يونس بن عبيد، عن الحسن، عن أنس بن حكيم قال: كنت أمر بالمدينة فألقى أبا هريرة فلا يبدأ بشيء حتى يسألني عن سمرة فلو أخبرته بحياته وصحته فرح وقال: إنا كنا عشرة في بيت وإن رسول الله قام علينا ونظر في وجوهنا وأخذ بعضادتي الباب وقال: « آخركم موتا في النار ».

فقد مات منا ثمانية ولم يبق غيري وغيره، فليس شيء أحب إلي من أن أكون قد ذقت الموت، وله شاهد من وجه آخر.

وقال يعقوب ابن سفيان: ثنا حجاج بن منهال، ثنا حماد بن سلمة عن علي بن زيد، عن أوس بن خالد قال: كنت إذا قدمت على أبي محذورة سألني عن سمرة، وإذا قدمت على سمرة سألني عن أبي محذورة.

فقلت لأبي محذورة: مالك إذا قدمت عليك تسألني عن سمرة وإذا قدمت على سمرة سألني عنك؟

فقال: إني كنت أنا وسمرة وأبو هريرة في بيت فجاء النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: « آخركم موتا في النار ».

قال: فمات أبو هريرة ثم مات أبو محذورة ثم مات سمرة.

وقال عبد الرزاق: أنا معمر سمعت ابن طاوس وغيره يقولون: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لأبي هريرة وسمرة بن جندب ولرجل آخر: « آخركم موتا في النار » فمات الرجل قبلهما، وبقي أبو هريرة وسمرة فكان الرجل إذا أراد أن يغيظ أبا هريرة يقول: مات سمرة، فإذا سمعه غشي عليه وصعق، ثم مات أبو هريرة قبل سمرة وقتل سمرة بشرا كثيرا.



 وقد ضعف البيهقي عامة هذه الروايات لانقطاع بعضها وإرساله ثم قال: وقد قال بعض أهل العلم: أن سمرة مات في الحريق.
ثم قال: ويحتمل أن يورد النار بذنوبه ثم ينجو منها بإيمانه فيخرج منها بشفاعة الشافعين والله أعلم.

holy prophet told 10 of his companions that the last one of them to die is in fire/hell; and amongst them was samura; abu nadara said that he was the last one to die
behqi said that all narrators are thiqa except that abu nadara did not hear from abu huraira; and allah knows best

then it is narrated with the sanad——- anas said that i was passing in madina and met abu huraira; he asked me about samura; when i gave him the news that he is alive, and well, he would get happy; and said that i was one of the ten in the house when holy prophet came and saw us and held the door; and said the last one of you who dies is in fire.
8 out of us have died; and we both are alive; and i will love that i taste death before him

this hadeeth has another shahid/proof/evidence chain

narrator says that when i would meet abu makhdura, he would ask about samura; and when i would meet samura he would ask me about abu makhdura
so i asked abu makhdura why it is so that when i meet u, u ask about samura, and when i meet him,he asks about you
he said that i, samura and abu huraira were in a house when prophet told us that the last one of us who would die will go to fire;
narrators says that the first one was abu huraira, then died abu makhdura; and then samura

holy prophet told samura, abu huraira and another man that the last one of them who would die will go to hell; so that man died first; and abu huraira and samura were left; and when any man would wish to anger abu huraira, he would tell him that samura died; and when he would hear it, he would faint and get unconscious; then died abu huraira; and samura murdered many men

behqi weakened the chains in that he said some of them are monqatay/with broken chain; and some are mursal/narrators did not meet; and some scholars say that samura died in fire; then he said that it is possible that he may enter fire (of hell) and then get out because of his faith, and come out of fire due to shafaat of shaafaeen
and allah knows best

now, one of these chains which was weakened by behqi is this one

قال يعقوب بن سفيان: ثنا عبيد الله بن معاذ، ثنا أبي، ثنا شعبة عن أبي سلمة، عن أبي نضرة، عن أبي هريرة أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لعشرة من أصحابه: « آخركم موتا في النار » فيهم سمرة بن جندب قال أبو نضرة: فكان سمرة آخرهم موتا.

and he criticized the fact that abu nadara did not hear from abu huraira; and then he said allah knows best;

this in itself is a proof that he was not sure about it

rather; he tried to save him

ibn hajar wrote in tehzeeb

[528] خت م 4 البخاري في التعاليق ومسلم والأربعة المنذر بن مالك بن قطعة أبو نضرة العبدي ثم العوفي البصري أدرك طلحة روى عن علي بن أبي طالب وأبي موسى الأشعري في وأبي ذر الغفاري وأبي هريرة وأبي سعيد وابن عباس

narrated from ali and abu musa and abu dhar and abu huraira and abu saeed and ibn abbas

and he was a thiqa narrator, ibn hajar wrote in taqreeb

6890- المنذر ابن مالك ابن قطعة بضم القاف وفتح المهملة العبدي العوقي بفتح المهملة والواو ثم قاف البصري أبو نضرة بنون ومعجمة ساكنة مشهور بكنيته ثقة من الثالثة مات سنة ثمان أو تسع ومائة خت م 4
