1- IMPORTANCE OF REMEMBRANCE IN TEACHINGS OF QURAN

The system of guidance bestowed to humans by quran; its foundation is based on remembrance; so that is why we find that the human who embraces faith in allah and his last prophet asws, he also has to put faith in those who were sent before, and that is why we see in quran

4. وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ وَبِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter.

[surat ul baqara]

here we see that the signs of who momins have been shown that they believe in what was revealed to holy prophet asws, and even that what was revealed before him; so it has been shown to be one of the signs of faith.

our concepts, spiritual growth and inner developments is highly dependent of remembrance; our day to day routine, our thoughts, our writings, meetings with others, in short our whole life is dependent on the knowledge which we gain and save; and it is this remembrance which helps us save it; so we can say that life is nothing without remembrance; our intellect depends on it.

NATION OF IBRAHIM

as we have seen that remembrance of past prophets is a part of our faith; and islam has been called time and again as “nation of ibrahim” in quran

130. وَمَنْ يَرْغَبُ عَنْ مِلَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِلَّا مَنْ سَفِهَ نَفْسَهُ ۚ وَلَقَدِ اصْطَفَيْنَاهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
And who forsakes the religion of Ibrahim but he who makes himself a fool, and most certainly We chose him in this world, and in the hereafter he is most surely among the righteous.

135. وَقَالُوا كُونُوا هُودًا أَوْ نَصَارَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا ۗ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
And they say: Be Jews or Christians, you will be on the right course. Say: Nay! (we follow) the religion of Ibrahim, the Hanif, and he was not one of the polytheists.

95. قُلْ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ ۗ فَاتَّبِعُوا مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Say: Allah has spoken the truth, therefore follow the religion of Ibrahim, the upright one; and he was not one of the polytheists.

[surat aal e imran]

125. وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًا مِمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ وَاتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا ۗ وَاتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلًا
And who has a better religion than he who submits himself entirely to Allah? And he is the doer of good (to others) and follows the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a friend.

قُلْ إِنَّنِي هَدَانِي رَبِّي إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ دِينًا قِيَمًا مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Say: Surely, (as for) me, my Lord has guided me to the right path; (to) a most right religion, the faith of Ibrahim the upright one, and he was not of the polytheists.

123. ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ أَنِ اتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Then We revealed to you: Follow the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and he was not of the polytheists.

78. وَجَاهِدُوا فِي اللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ ۚ هُوَ اجْتَبَاكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ ۚ مِلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ۚ هُوَ سَمَّاكُمُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَفِي هَٰذَا لِيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ ۚ فَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِاللَّهِ هُوَ مَوْلَاكُمْ ۖ فَنِعْمَ الْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ
And strive hard in (the way of) Allah, (such) a striving a is due to Him; He has chosen you and has not laid upon you an hardship in religion; the faith of your father Ibrahim; He named you Muslims before and in this, that the Messenger may be a bearer of witness to you, and you may be bearers of witness to the people; therefore keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and hold fast by Allah; He is your Guardian; how excellent the Guardian and how excellent the Helper!

[surat ul haj]
and in these verses, we see that yousaf asws said that he is a follower of his grand fathers, ibrahim, ishaq and yaqoob asws

38. وَاتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ آبَائِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۚ مَا كَانَ لَنَا أَنْ نُشْرِكَ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ
And I follow the religion of my fathers, Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub; it beseems us not that we should associate aught with Allah; this is by Allah’s grace upon us and on mankind, but most people do not give thanks:

and in these verses, remembrance of the past prophets has been made the basis of religion; so allah said

163. ۞ إِنَّا أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ كَمَا أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطِ وَعِيسَىٰ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُونُسَ وَهَارُونَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ ۚ وَآتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ زَبُورًا
Surely We have revealed to you as We revealed to Nuh, and the prophets after him, and We revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Yaqoub and the tribes, and Isa and Ayub and Yunus and Haroun and Sulaiman and We gave to Dawood

so the knowledge we gained from the past prophets had been a source of guidance for us

this concept of remembrance is too vast as per quran; and in order to know it better, we can see that the word which hint to it like DHIKAR has been used in quran about 267 times; and it basically means to remember, to make remember, to save etc

and that is why we are remembering the sign of ibrahim………….imam hussein asws……and its remembrance helps us keep his philosophy alive; that is to know the yazeed of the present era, and to fight him; so whosoever is opposing azadari, he is actually either a helper of yazeed or playing in the hands of followers of yazeed.

remembrance of imam hussein asws is a sign of islam; and can never be erased; rather the more it is tried to be erased, the more it will get air

2- azadari of imam hussein is proven from sunnah of holy prophet asws and maula ali asws

there are a number of authentic narrations on this subject
let us see these

HADEETH NO. 1


Umm ul momineen ayesha or umma ul momineen um salma narrates that holy prophet asws said that today an angel came to our home who had never came before, and he told me that o prophet! this son of yours will be killed, if you wish i can bring you some soil from that land where he would be martyred; then holy prophet said that angel brought me soil which was read in color

research of the book of fadail us sahaba, wasi ullah termed the sanad sahih
he further said in the footnotes

“this narration is also present in musnad ahmad, and haithmi mentioned it in majma uz zawaid and he said that the narrators of musnad ahmad are narrators of sahih hadeeth, tabarani has narrated it with sahih sanad from ayesha, and ahmad has narrated it with sahih sanad from naji, haithmi says that it is mentioned by ahmad, abu yala and tabarani, and narrators are thiqa”

let us see what sheikh shoaib said about this narration in his work on musnad imam ahmad; after terming it HASAN, he mentioned some witnesses for this narration

ahmad in fadail us sahaba, tabarani in maujam kabeer, haithmi in majma uz zawaid and he said that the narrators are narrators of sahih, ibn tehman in masheekha, asim mentioned two chain for it in al ahad wa al mathani, tabarani in his maujam with five chains; hakim in mustadarak, behqi with two chain in dalail, ibn sheebah in musanif, darqutni in illal with two chains; has mentioned this narration

dhabi mentioned this narration in his book tareekh islam, and termed the chain from umm salma with sahih sanad; and mentioned that it is narrated by ahmad and others

HADEETH NO. 2

anas bin malik narrates that the angel of rain asked permission from allah to visit holy prophet asws, so allah gave that, holy prophet asws was in house of umm salma then; so He asws told umm salma to go to the door and do not let anyone in; anas says that umm salma was sitting by the door when imam hussein asws came there, so holy prophet asws got him close to his chest, and kissed him; so the angel said:- do you love him? He replied:- yes; so the angel said:- your nation will kill him; anas further said that if you wish i can get the soil of that area for you where he will be killed; so holy prophet asws said show me; so he shook him hand and then showed his hand full of soil to holy prophet asws; it was red in color; which was later preserved by umm salma in a cloth. 

researcher of the book has termed the chain “HASAN”

HADEETH NO. 3

anas bin malik narrates that the angel of rain asked permission from allah for paying visit to holy prophet asws, so allah gave him that; and that day, He asws was in the home of umm salma; so He told her to be at the door and not let anyone come in; so anas said that umm salma sat there, and imam hussein asws came there; and climbed the back of prophet asws; so He asws got him close to his chest, and kisssed him; so the angel asked him:- do you love him? He replied:- yes; so angel said:- your nation will kill him, he further said:- if you wish i can show you the soil from that place where he will be killed; so HE said:- show me; so the angels shoke his hand and showed him his hand full of soil; that was red in color, umm salma then saved it; thabit said that we use to say that it was soil from karbala

shiekh shoaib has termed in HASAN
[ al-ihsaan fi taqreeb sahih ibn haban, vol 15, first print; 1408 hijri, page 142, narration 6742]

albani has termed in SAHIH WITH SUPPORT OF OTHERS 
[al taliqaat ul hasan ala sahih ibn haban; nasir ud deen albani, vol 9, page 406, narration 6707]

HADEETH NO. 4

Abdullah bin naji narrates from his father that he was going with mola ali; and when they passed by nenwa, when they were going for battle of siffen; so mola ali asws raised his voice saying:- o abu abdullah! have patience; o abu abdullah! have patience by the side of furat; narrated asked him:- o ali! what do you mean by abu abdullah? so imam ali said;- once i was entered in the room of holy prophet, and saw that he was weeping; so i asked him:- o prophet! has some one hurt you which has made you cry? so he replied:- no, jibrail came to me; and told me that imam hussein will be martyred on the bank of furatt; so jibrail told me o prophet! you wish to smell the soil of that land; where he will be martyred? so i said yes; so he moved his hand and filled his hand with that soil and gave it to me; so i cannot control my tears; and wept

hussein saleem asad says:- isnaad are HASAN and author of majma uz zawaid has said that it is narrated by ahmad, abu yala, tibrani, and narrators are thiqa

3- books, references and authentications of narrations in regards to martyrdom of imam hussein asws


sheikh albani and narrations regarding martyrdom of imam hussein asws

albani has termed these reports sahih; so he writes in his sahih jami sagheer that

“holy prophet asws said that jibrail came to me and informed me that my nation will martyr this son, i.e, hussein; and he brought soil from the place of his death”

albani termed it sahih

[sahih jami sagheer, vol 1, page 73, narration 61]

he had also written this narration in his silsila ahadeeth sahihiyya

“holy prophet asws said that jibrail came to me and informed me that my nation will martyr this son, i.e, hussein; and he brought soil from the place of his death”

this narration has been mentioned by hakim; and behqi has noted it down in his dalial in this way

“umm fadal bin harith said that she entered the place of holy prophet asws, and said:- o prophet! i had a bad dream; He asked:- what did u see?; she said:- that was too bad; He asked;- what was it? she said:- i saw that a part of your body has been broken and then placed in my lap; so He replied:- this is a good dream; fatima will give birth to a child, and he will be a boy, and he will be in your lap; so fatima gave birth to imam hussein asws; and he came to my lap; as prophet asws had said; once day i went to holy prophet asws and i placed him in his lap; then my attention diverted a bit; then when i saw him, there were tears in his eyes; i asked:- my parents be ransom for you; what happened o prophet? He replied:- jibrail had come to me; and informed me that this son will soon by killed by my nation; and he brought soil from the place of death of hussein asws”

hakim has termed it sahih as per condition of bukhari and muslim
but dhabi objected terming it broken chain

but albani negated dhabi by saying that there are many proofs for terming it sahih one of which is from ahmad bin hanbal;

holy prophet said that today an angel came to our ourse which never came before, and he told me that this son of yours will be killed, if you wish, i can bring you soil from that land where he will be killed; then prophet said that he brought me soil which was red in color

[silsila ahadeeth sahihiyya, vol 2, page 464-465; hadeeth 821-822]

in another place, he writes that

“holy prophet said that jibrail just left me and informed me that hussein will be killed on the bank of furat
ahmad bin hanbal has mentioned this narration

after mentioning this narration, albani said:- its chain is weak since no one knows naji who is father of abdullah like dhabi said; no one termed him thiqa apart from ibn haban; his son is more famous than him

however, albani says that haithmi has said that it is narrated by ahmad, and also by abu yala, bazar, and tabarani, and its narrators are thiqa; and it is not just narrated by naji, rather others also narrated it;
he further said taht its witnesses have made it strong and its gets to the status of sahih

NOTE;- ahluhadeeth scholar hafiz zubair ali zai has termed the chain of ahmad “HASAN”; and said that abdullah bin naji and his father are considered thiqa in opinion of jamhoor; and their hadeeth is no less than hasan
[neel ul maqsood fi tahqeeq sunan abi daood, 227]

then albani gives six chains as witness, and then he says that

i say in one sentence that this narration in its different meanings and explanation, and with different sahih chain, these make it sahih; though there may be some weakness in some narrators but as a whole, this narration is of the status of sahih and hasan

[silsila ahadeeth sahihiya, vol 3, page 159-162, hadeeth 1171]

HAFIZ IBN KATHEER AND NARRATIONS ABOUT MARTYRDOM OF IMAM HUSSEIN asws

he writes that his martyrdom has been mentioned in ahadeeth; and the first narration he talks about, it is the one regarding the angel of rain which is narrated by anas bin malik; and that tells us that umm salma RA tied that soil of karbala to her cloth; it must be noted that this narration is HASAN 

then he mentioned another narration

umm salma narrates that once holy prophet was lying on his side; he woke up, and he was surprised, then he again slept and again woke but this time he was less surprised; then he slept and again woke and he had red colored soil in his hand; which he was turning around; so i asked him :- o prophet! what is this soil? he replied:- jibrail told me that this is from that place in iraq where hussein would be killed; i asked jibrail to show me soil where he would be killed and he brought this soil

then ibn kather brought the narration of umm fadal, where holy prophet wept on hearing the report of his martyrdom; we have already talked of it so we will not repeat it again to save time

[al bidaya wa nihaya, ibn kather, vol 9, page 234]

HAFIZ ABU NAEEM ISFAHANI AND NARRATIONS ABOUT MARTYRDOM OF IMAM HUSSEIN 

he gives the heading in his dalail

“narrations of holy prophet asws regarding martyrdom of imam hussein asws”

he mentions the narration of anas bin malik regarding the angel of rain first, and that we have talked about previously
researcher of the book, dr mohammad rawas says about it

” this narration is mentioned by behqi, ahmad in his musnad, abu yala, bazar and tabarani from amara bin zadhan; and he was termed thiqa by a group of scholars, and some have termed him daif; and rest of the narrators of aby yala are narrators of sahih, and haithmi said this in majma uz zawaid”

abu naeem then brings another narration

“in the narration of suliman bin ahmad, it is written that holy prophet asws smelt it, i.e, soil, and said:- there is smell of karb o bala (pain and problem), so it is said that we heard that hussein bin ali asws would be martyred in karbala”

he mentions another narration

anas bin harith narrates that i heard holy prophet asws that my son would be martyred in iraq; so whosoever finds him, he should help him; so it is said that this anas was martyred with imam

NARRATIONS OF MARTYRDOM OF IMAM HUSSEIN asws AND SAYOOTI

hafiz sayooti mentioned the narrations in his book “al khasais ul kubra”, he makes the heading like this

“informing about the martyrdom of imam hussein asws”

HADEETH NO. 1:- first narration is from hakim and behqi from umm fadal which we have talked about from work of albani, so we wont repeat it

HADEETH NO. 2:- this narration is mentioned by ibn rahwiya, behqi and abu naeem, from umm sallma, we have talked about it in work of ibn kather; plz see there

HADEETH NO. 3:- it is from behqi and abu naeem from anas bin malik which speaks of the narration of angel of rain; plz see our discussion above

HADEETH NO. 4:- abn naeem narrates from umm salma that imam hasan and imam hussein asws were playing in my home; jibrail came and pointed to imam hussein asws, and said:- o mohammad! this son of yours will be killed by your nation; he brought the soil from that land which HE smelt; and said that it smells of karb o bala; then HE said:- o umm salma! when it turns blood, you should know that my son has been martyred; son she saved it in a bottle

HADEETH NO. 5:- ibn asaakar narrates from mohammad bin amr bin hasan that we were by the side of karbala river with imam hussein asws; he looked at shimr, and said:- allah and his prophet asws spoke truth; holy prophet asws said that i am seeing a dog with white spots who is drinking blood of my ahlubait; and he was having such signs

HADEETH NO. 6:- it is the narration of anas bin malik in which holy prophet ordered to help imam asws and we talked of it when we mentioned work of abu naeem

HADEETH NO. 7:- it is narrated from behqi where jibrail showed soil of karbala to holy prophet asws

HADEETH NO. 8:- narration of mola ali asws while he was going to battle of siffen

HADEETH NO. 9:- abu naeem mentioned from asbagh bin nabata that we reached the place of death of imam hussein asws; so imam ali asws said:- here will sit their camels/horses, and their things will be placed; and their blood would spill; men of progeny of mohammad asws would be killed; skies and earth would cry for them

HAFIZ BEHQI AND NARRATIONS ABOUT MARTYRDOM OF HOLY IMAM

now, we present from dalail un nabu’ua, by hafiz behqi, dhabi said about this book

“it should be made the centre point of life, it is full of light of guidance”

[al mustarfa, page 165]

he gives the heading like this

“the information given by holy prophet asws regarding martyrdom of his grand son, imam hussein bin ali; and then it happened like this like he had informed; and the miraculous happenings then; which are a proof upon his prophethood.

HADEETH NO. 1

first narration is the one narrated from umm salma that said jibrail told this to holy prophet, and brought him the soil of karbala; we have talked of it in the discussion of hafiz ibn kather

hafiz behqi also brought a follower hadeeth for it

HADEETH NO. 2

This is the narration of umm fadal; we have talked of it before

HADEETH NO. 3

This is the narration of angel of rain; already discussed before

researcher of the book, dr abdul mo’ti qali”i writes in the footnotes

“this narration is mentioned in musnad ahmad, and author of majma uz zawaid writes;- it is narrated by tabarani as well, and narration is with HASAN sanad

HADEETH NO. 4

abu salma bin abdur rehman narrates that ayesha had an upper story, when prophet would wish to meet jibrail, he would meet him there; one day, he went there, and told ayesha that none should peep in there; it is said that the stairs were from the house of ayesha; imam hussein entered and went up; it was not known to her till he reached up there; jibrail asked Him who is he? He replied that he is my son; then He made him sit on His thigh; jibrail told him that soon his nation would martyr him; prophet asked:- my nation? he said yes; if you wish i can give u news about that land, where he would be killed; then jibrail pointed to altaf iraq; and got soil from there, and showed him to him

IBN HAJAR MAKI AND NARRATIONS ABOUT HIS MARTYRDOM

now, let us present narrations from sawaiq ul mohiriqa; ibn hajar mentions the following narrations

HADEETH NO. 1

it is the narration from ibn saad and tabarani from ayesha in which jibrail told about martyrdom of imam hussein asws and showed soil from there

HADEETH NO. 2

it is narration of abu daood and hakim from umm fadal

HADEETH NO. 3

it is the one from baghwi from anas bin malik which speaks of the angel of rain

after this ibn hajar says:-

abu hatim has mentioned this in his sahih, and ahmad also narrated like this; and abd bin hameed and ibn ahmad also wrote like this; but the difference is that there we find that angel was jibrail; if it is correct; then it means it is two different incidents; and there is addition in the second one as well; that is, holy prophet asws smelt it; and said it is smelling of grief and pain


HADEETH NO. 4

it is the narration of al mala, and it is in ziyada tul masnad of ahmad that umm salma said that holy prophet gave me that soil and said:- it is the soil of the land where he would be killed; when it gets bloody, realize that He had been martyred; umm salma said that i kept that in a bottle and use to say that one day it will covert to blood; and that would be a big day; umm salma’s narration also mentions that it turned into blood on the day of his martyrdom

HADEETH NO. 5

and in another narration it is written that jibrail said that i will show you soil from the place of death; and he brought some fists full of soil, and i placed it in a bottle; umm salma said that when the night of his martyrdom came; i heard someone saying

“o those who are killing hussien in ignorance, there is news of punishment and disgrace for you, and you have been cursed by the tongue of ibn daood, musa and esa”

umm salma said that i opened the bottle and it was blood, so i wept

HADEETH NO. 6

ibn saad narrates from shoobi that we were going with mola ali asws to siffen; and mola ali passed by karbala, which is by the side of furat opposite to nenwa; he stood there and asked the name of that land; so he was told that it is called karbala; so he wept; till his tears made the ground wet; then he said:- i went to holy prophet asws, and he was crying, so i asked:- why are you crying?; he said: jibrail came now, and said that my son hussein will be killed near furat, which is called karbala; then jibrail made me smell a fist (of that soil) and i could not control my tears

musnad ahmad also mentioned it; with some different words; that can be seen in previous discussion

HADEETH NO. 7

it is the narration where imam ali asws passed by the place of grave of imam hussein; and he wept;

it is narration of ibn saad that speaks of the upper story of ayesha where jibrail brought news of martyrdom of holy imam asws

4-HOLY PROPHET asws ORDERED HIS SAHABA TO HELP HOLY IMAM asws

anas bin harith is one of the people of kufa, and he heard holy prophet asws that this son of mine will be martyred in karbala, so whosoever finds him, he should help him; and he embraced martyrdom with holy imam

scholars like ibn mundah have counted him in sahaba, and his view was backed by abu umar,, and abu ahmad askari, who said that it is proven that he is a sahani;

also, it is mentioned by ibn ather in ussud ul ghaba, under heading of harith bin nabeya, and he has added that when Holy prophet was telling this thing, imam hussein asws was in his lap

5-CONDITION OF HOLY PROPHET asws ON THE DAY OF ASHURA

حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبي ثنا عبد الرحمن ثنا حماد بن سلمة عن عمار بن أبي عمار عن ابن عباس قال رأيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في المنام بنصف النهار أشعث أغبر معه قارورة فيها دم يلتقطه أو يتتبع فيها شيئا قال قلت يا رسول الله ما هذا قال دم الحسين وأصحابه لم أزل أتتبعه منذ اليوم
قال عمار فحفظنا ذلك اليوم فوجدنا قتل ذلك اليوم


“abdullah bin abbas narrates that i saw holy prophet asws while sleeping in afternoon, his hair were scattered, and full of dust, and he had a bottle filled with blood; i asked him: my parents be sacrificed for you, what is this? He replied: this is the blood of hussein asws and his companions, i have been collecting it since day time

narrator said that when we calculated, it was the day holy imam asws embraced martyrdom”

DREAM OF UMM SALMA ON THE DAY OF ASHURA 

salma narrates that i asked umm salma for the reason of weeping and asked: what made you cry? she said: i saw holy prophet asws in my dream, his hear and beard were filled with dust, i asked Him: why are you in this state? He replied: i have just seen hussein asws being martyred

shahr bin hoshab narrates that i was with umm salma, and we heard a person who came to umm salma, and told her:- hussein asws has been killed; umm salma said: they have done it; may allah fill their houses or graves with fire; and then she fainted with grief

umm salma narrates that i have heard jins reciting sad poetry on his martyrdom, and they were saying:-

“o those who killed hussein with ignorance! get the news of punishment and penalty
all people of skies, prophets, are praying against you
you have been cursed by the tongue of daood, musa and the one with injeel”

abu khabab kalbi said that people of karbala always heard jins reciting sad poetry for imam hussein asws, and they said

“holy prophet touched his fore head with his hand; and its shine was in his cheeks, his parents were the greats of quriesh and his grand father was the best grand father”

ibn asakar narrates that a group of people were going in fight to city of Rome, and they saw in a church

“the nation who martyred imam hussein, do they expect shafaat on the day of qayamat from his grand father?”

they asked: whom poetry is it? they were told that this was written 300 years before the arrival of their (holy) prophet asws

it is narrated that those people who killed imam hussein asws, they spent their night drinking wine; and they had head of imam hussein asws, so a pen made of iron appeared which wrote this on the wall

“the nation who martyred imam hussein, do they expect shafaat on the day of qayamat from his grand father?”

ibn kather writes

when the caravan of ahlubait entered madina, one of the women of banu abdul motallab was there with open hair, and had placed her hand on her head; she came weeping and was reciting these verses

“when holy prophet told you that you were the last nation, and what did you do to my ahlubait and progeny after me that some of them are prisoners and some killed, who are drenched with blood, when i did good to you, is it not my right that you be careful to my relatives, what do you say about this?”

ibn kather says

there are many sad poetry written for holy imam, but the best of these is written by hakim neshapuri who had inclination to shi’i thinkings

” o son of daughter of prophet! they brought your head drenched with blood,
o son of daughter of prophet ! they killed holy prophet by killing you
they killed you in state of thirst
and they did not bother about what is revealed and explained in regards to your martyrdom
they recited takbeer on your death
though they killed takbeer by killing you”

* OPINION OF IBN KAHTER ABOUT GRIEF FOR HOLY IMAM asws

he said

it should be that every muslim should be sad for his martyrdom, no doubt he was syed of muslim, and amongst scholars and sahaba, and son of daughter of holy prophet asws, who was the greatest in His daughters, He was a worshipper, brave and open hearted”
